GREAT FOR USE AS A FANTASTIC SOUND QUALITY MINI STEREO IN THE HOME OR CAR AND BRILLIANT RECORDER FOR MUSICIANS/JOURNALISTS, BUT NOT GOOD AS A DURABLE MOBILE PERSONAL STEREO IN THE POCKET FOR EVERY DAY USE COMPARED TO MOST MP3 PLAYERS AND THE IPOD.

This is an awesome sounding device! BY FAR richer and more quality sound than the IPOD!!! Sony MZE310S Mini Disc Player Silver

My friend recently bought the Sony MzE310s minidisc player and was thoroughly pleased with it, this has I'm affraid got me into minidisc fever and I can really see the advantages. The minidisc player works smoothly from the start no problems there really are no down sides to this product except maybe the lack of an in-line remote. I whole heartedly endorse this product.

I got the Sony MZ-NH600 Silver Hi-MiniDisc Walkman for my 40th Birthday on 23rd February 2005 from my dear Mum who sadly died of cancer on 16th July 2007.

I have been a great fan of Sony products for many years. MiniDisc is the best as far as I am concerned. From the original to MD-LP and now to this fantastic HI-MD format where you can download fron CD or the Internet music up to 45 hours on one of these excellent discs. You can even download documents and photographs on to these discs to. I have not experienced any trouble except if you do not pre-format each disc before recording on to it you may lose data and even a whole disc of music. i have been using my beaten up MZ-NH600 for a long while now, and it has done me proud, having taken the brunt of a 10 feet drop down some concrete stairs and still worked.....but now none of the buttons work, so i thought it is about time i upgraded. and what an upgrade. the MZ-NH900 is sweet. the main plus point is i have upgraded my sonic stage software, which doesn't look like much compared to i-tunes, but i like it much more, and it seems a lot more stable. the playing format is pretty much standard, and what you would expect for a minidisc player of this day and age, and i am well chuffed with the purchase.

the only thing i don't get is why on earth minidiscs never caught on!!!!

As you may have seen, I reviewed one of the previous models of the standard MiniDisc that was the first generation. After being extremely impressed with the amazing sound quality, I had to opt for the Hi-MD model so I could record AND transfer my recordings via the original file on my PC, to which I can safely say this is simple and so effective on these range of Hi-MD models.

The other reviewers have probably covered everything you need to know, but their is an unfortunate problem in the long term... Disc Read Errors... Just like the original 'Playstation' from 1994, this device suffers an all too familiar internal warping around the laser head, because their is nothing keeping it cool. it is a very useful case to have and protects your mini disc player nicely. there are only a few down falls: when you wear it on your arm it sticks out a lot and could be banged into.The arm strap is too big even when it is on as tight as can be. The apperance is very nice and i would use it for sport as well as around the house. The mini disc player fits nicely but it is a bit too tight to fit in a minidisc as well.

but over all it is the a very good perchase and is valuble!!!

This machine is superb. I got it for a christmas present and within an hour had transferred all my WMA's into the ATRAC3 format required by the MD player. I took this on holiday to Mexico and throughout the whole trip using a 2100 mAh battery for 15 days it only dropped two bars of battery life, with constant use of up to two hours a day! The Sonicstage software is tricky and slow to use, but one gets the hang of it and it does not take long to convert uncompatiable formats. My brother has a Ipod, and eventually the battery will run out losing all his music. I highly recommend this product!

This product looks like a good one because of its features such as 320 minutes of playback using ATRAC3 compression,Playback MD with MDLP & GROUP function,ATRAC DSP type-R,G-Protection Shock Protection,Group mode support,Digital sound system presets,Operates from 1 AA battery (Not included). The buttons are easy to press by the look of it and its quite good value for money but the downside is that you have to wait for some time before getting it and that might be next week or even before that so if your a first time buyer it is good! Its a nice shape you get the headphones with it.
