I would advise not buying these earphones simply because they don't last. Mine didn't anyway. I've had them a couple of months and I haven't put any great stresses on them - ie. I've used them 'normally' for listening to an mp3 player - and the lead has now developed a faulty connection which means the sound is intermittent.
The sound is very good and they're very cheap so I could theoretically just buy a new pair every couple of months, but I'm just not keen on shoddy manufacturing and will I think stick to Sonys in the future.

Well, my review is different to (almost) every one else here, it seems.
I bought these headphones for my daughter to replace the originals supplied with the Creative Zen 4Gb media player (excellent bit of kit). To say I am disappointed is an understatement.
Most other comments seem to be very positive, but that just doesn't reflect my experience. The sound on these phones, for me, is awful - thin, tinny and totally lacking bass. Now, looking at what others have said, these phones can sound poor if they are not worn properly, so it may be that we have not been able to get a good fit. However, my daughter and I have tried every set of ear pads and every conceivable way of pushing the phones in to our ears. We've also listened on ... Read More:

I bought these on the strength of the positive reviews here and I've been more than impressed with my purchase.
I previously had other ones from this manufacturer that went round my ears that eventually broke but I'd been happy with, however these are WAY better!
They are really comfortable to wear in the gym and never fall out and the sound quality is brilliant.

I purchased these headphones to replace those supplied with my ipod.
The sound was fairly good for the price however there is a fair amount of 'wire noise' whilst walking.
Sadly one of the earpieces stopped working after 2 months - I am looking for an alternative replacement.
I can honestly say I've never owned a set of earphones with such good sound quality, especially for the price. The sound is as loud as anyone would require, very bassy, and they come with different size ear-pieces to give you the perfect fit.
Fantastic, once I knacker these ones I will definately buy the same set again as I don't believe it could get any better.

I read the reviews bought a pair of CX500 and expected to hear the best ever sound from my ipod. But, to my amazement the sound was the worst I have ever heard. My original ipod phones were so much better and so were a pair costing £2.50. I concluded that the CX500's were faulty and sent them back. I received replacements without question (and thank you for such efficiency here). But, the replacements sounded just the same! Surely two pairs cannot be faulty and so I conclude that the CX500's are just not for me. No bass at all; far too much hiss and ipod needing near full volume to power them. Apologies Sennheiser but I won't be purchasing any more phones from you.

Sent these back - I read the mediocre reviews of Apple's own earphones for the iPod and thought these would be better. Trying any of the three adaptors made no difference. Had to turn the volume right up to hear anything.

Iv'e owned some of these for around 3 years now and they still work fine, brilliant biuld quality and strong all round sound performance. Bass is good for standard earbud shape and vocal reproduction is superb when listening to 192k WMA 9.2 files on my Zen vision m. They even seem to hide compression artifacts in MP3's and sound great on my laptop for movies espesially DVD's which naturally suffer from vocal drop out, with these it's simply not an issue. Even windows media player 11 sounds good. What a bargain, since writing this iv'e bought another pair for my laptop, sony's done it again, simply good in every way, theyre what I look for in earphones, comfortable, good all round sound and a nice rubbery cord which helps prevent tangeling

Listen folks, I have 2 pairs of these and they are without doubt the best sounding low-mid priced headphones I've personally ever had.
What you have to do though, to get the best possible sound, is to make absolutely sure you have the right size buds fitted. They come with 3 sizes, I'm an average sized bloke but I needed the large buds. If you don't test for the right size, you will end up wondering why lots of people rave about these cans.
How to test ?
What you need to do is fit each set of buds, play some bassy music, then push the headphones gently into your ear until they sit snugly, then gently push them til as far as they can go. If you notice an increase in bass while you've pushed them further than they would normally sit in the ear, then the buds you've ... Read More:
