Quality-wise, this item is flawless - really good sound quality, and bass is excellent. The only problem is getting them to stay in my ears. The slightest - and I mean slightest - movement out of the ear causes the music to sound very bad indeed. Pocket transistor-radio bad. Still, there's always Superglue.
- appears as a drive in Windows, drag and drop your music, no need to install anything
- radio works well
- three line display puts the ipod shuffle to shame; it's quick to boot and you can find the music you want to listen to in a snap.
- the sound quality is excellent, far better than I was expecting (included headphones are, as exepected, rubbish).
It's pretty small, well built and comes with a neckstrap; I bought this for running with, no need to buy an extra arm band with this player.
The included firmware is now solid - previously it was sold with poor buggy software. A new version is available for download (v.5) though to be honest ... Read More:

I was a bit disappointed when I read the numerous bad reviews for this Freeview box, as when I initially read the description and spec's it all sounded pretty good. I tried looking for an alternative Freeview box but was rather surprised by the real lack of quality set top boxes on the market. It seems that just about every box is made by a little heard of manufacturer who make it their aim to make the most hideous looking box on the market. Because of this I decided to take a chance and go for the Philips which at least came from a fairly reputable manufacturer and looks good.
Having bought and used the DTR220 for a couple of months now I have to say I am very impressed, and slightly confused as to why this item currently only has such ... Read More:

Found the product simple to set up. Main problem the ring tone is so low you can't hear it and the handset volume is set to medium so so can't hear callers. After much fiddling with the menu to reset the volume(s) gave up and sent it back.

Firstly, i will say that i updated the firmware to 4.something as soon as i got it (anyone can do it, google is your best friend), and so i know nothing of the pre installed firmware.
I have had this player for ~2 weeks now (bought it on offer for £30), and i can truly say it is a brilliant mp3 player.
Drag and drop - No software needed, so much better than Sonicstage, iTunes, etc. Can sync it with WMP11. Also quick transfer rates compared to other supposedly USB 2.0 players.
Size - When i received the package, i thought it was a dvd...the player is 2/3cm squared, ridiculously small. May not be ideal for those who like chunky/weighty mp3 players.
Buttons/Menu - I like the placement of the buttons around ... Read More:

This is the remote that works all the Sky Digital Receivers, it is the black version easy to use, nice clear display, with good size buttons.
This is not the Sky Plus remote you will need a Sky 110 remote for Sky+.

This is an inexpensive VCR, almost certainly with a generic mechanism and electronics to be found in several brands. I have two, and they both present an excellent picture and adequate sound. I simply cannot understand why others have problems with it.

We bought this radio to replace our Evoke Pure 2 which has a very annoying fault on the volume knob (it needs to be warmed up for ages before you can run it below shouting level). On plugging the Philips in, it pulled in 16 local DAB stations but none of the mainstream BBC stations (1,2, 4, 5, 6 or 7) which our Pure seemed to get no problem. Anybody know why? A check on the DAB section of the BBC website shows these mainstream stations in a separate box - does that mean they're not actually DAB stations, and our Evoke was just getting the FM stations (you can't tell the source on the display panel)? More seriously, the Philips' FM reception is feeble, I can only just scrape onto Radio 2 and 4 by manual tuning with the aerial fully out and walking around the room in ... Read More:

This does just what it says - and easily. I have had soooo many problems in the past simply trying to copy tape to disc - either old VHS, or modern 8mm, and digital tape - so am absolutely chuffed that this is simple one button copying ! No DVD format problems either - because it will use any - "+" , "-" ,and dual layer......highly recommended ! (don't expect a slim line machine though - it is a big old VHS style) Also great for front connections to camcorder - incl; firewire, phono, and usb !
