Apple iPod Touch 8GB

I bought my iPod touch last Christmas and fell in love with it immedietly. However... now, after just nine or ten months it has already started to 'play up'. It pauses randomly and sometimes i can see the time slider going through a song but no sound. i took it back to the apple shop, they put the new updates on it (free of charge i'd like to say ;)) but i still have the same problem i.e keeps pausing randomly.
i would suggest that you don't buy the iPod touch as i am completely convinced that mine will stop working altogether JUST after my one year gurantee runs out. proof of this: my friend and her sister both bought an iPod on the same day last year and just after their one year gurantee ran out... they both stopped working within ... This iPod looked dodgy ever since it came out. It looks more or less a miniature version of the ipod classic. It's just £50 than a classic. This only store 8 GB while classic store 80 GB and it has no extra features whatsoever. Finally the 4th generation is out and that can do things the classic can't so don't buy this.

bought this after reading reviews. I was not disappointed. I am still finding things it will do.I use it mainly for podcasts (the sound is so clear} but I have photos and videos stored too.The SD card facility is an amazing way of storing info. and I find the radio excellent.It does more than it says 'on the tin' !

At 57 years old I thought it was time I replaced my battered but functional Sony FM walkman with something a bit more up to date. So I researched everything to do with portable music players and ended up through a process of elimination for functionality, cost and looks with the X-Fi 8GB. First off I'm a big person with big fingers so I thought the tiny buttons might be a problem but they work fine with the edge of the nail and fall intuitively where you think they should be. The centre set of 9 buttons is a bit like a mobile phone arrangement logically with the centre buttton being the "do it" button. I deliberatly delayed writing a review until I had used everything on this player. And after 3 months, I still love it!

The player is tiny and fits into my pockets without looking daft. The sound quality is excellent. The video quality is great! The headphones completely make the package as it's great to do chores or run with them on and not have cords get in the way. (It does come with earbuds too)

The software is not great and requires you to pay to upgrade to compress movies. Try google for 'Any Video Converter' as it does the job brilliantly. Since that's easy enough to get around, I still give it 5 stars. And the easiest way to manage playlists is with Windows Media Player.

I love my new toy :)

I rather like this interesting player, it is a very nice break from all the generic mp3 players on the market, while it doesn't have Ipod looks it is certainly very attractive. It is very plasticy but it does feel sturdy, and I have already managed to drop it a couple of times and no harm done. On the hardware side the sound quality produced when plugged into my sennheiser cx400s is very pleasing, don't however use the included earphones, they are terrible, but this is the case with pretty much every mp3 player so I am not going to take a star off for it. I am a great fan of the screen which has been criticised in many reviews. Yes it is low resolution and video's look awful on it, but its very bright, even viewable in direct sunlight and makes browsing the interface a joy. the integrated ... Read More:

Well its been quite a while since I "treated" myself to an ipod at Christmas and had to send it back due to unacceptable sound quality. Took the plunge with the Sony walkman 16gb version of this without Bluetooth yesterday and I have to say the difference in sound quality is quite remarkable. I have been ripping using windows media player 11 (128 bit rate windows media) and it is really excellent.

I did think when I got the ipod it was sexy but they had skimped somewhere and it was not just on the headphones. With the Walkman the first thing that I noticed was the openness and natural midrange without hint of distortion found on the ipod. the top end was also a lot cleaner and songs retain a fantastic sense of drive and realism due to the natural tuneful bass.
