Probably a perfectly good piece of kit in itself, but I bought this for my son's 11th birthday, and trying to download the "itunes" update necessary to run it has taken nine hours of toil, reduced me to a blaspheming, sobbing hulk in front of my boy and thoroughly taken the gloss off his day(and mine - big-style). It took a google search for forums on which other people were dicussing the same problem(many sorely aggrieved folk out there!), an adventure into ms-dos programming and many, many attempts to get the wretched thing going at last, and I now wish all the ill luck in the world to both Apple and Microsoft for their petty, spiteful squabbling and lack of communication, and their attitude that it's acceptable to take it out on their customers. ... When I first saw this product up close I thought it would be too small. And it is small. Incredibly small. But when you turn it on you realise that everything still works brilliantly. The screen is still bright but not garish. I can easily watch a movie in clear quality without blurryness, pixelation or even bad light contrasts. I don't know how apple do it but they manage to squeeze such a fantastic product into dimensions that can comfortably fit into my top shirt pocket.
The wheel is easy to use and doesn't go too fast or too slow when you try and scroll. The scroll even has a great handling ability and unlike previous nanos, I can easily scroll and then stop exactly on the thing I was planning to stop on. Unfortunately my experience of this iPod was not as positive as from previous reviewers. The first one only worked for 1 months and then froze, so I had to send it back to Amazon. Amazon was great in responding and quickly replacing the item! However the next iPod was even worse - only lasted for a week, and also the same problem - froze! I had to ask for a full refund. Very disappointing quality from Apple!

Total MP3 virgin, looked at others such as Creative Zen but kept coming back to Apple. I think this Ipod is absolutely wonderful. Would definitely suggest you invest in a decent pair of earphones (I got the Sennheiser 500) as the ones supplied are cheap-looking, uncomfortable and the sound quality is poor. With a good pair of phones though - wow.

It's easy to use, fun, looks great and does the job better than I'd ever anticipated. I got it mainly because I was expiring of boredom at the gym; the problem now is that I don't want to come off the equipment because I'm enjoying the music so much. Consequently I've lost even more weight and none of my new clothes fit any more. Thanks for nothing, Apple.

just bought this green ipod nano for our daughters birthday its expensive it was so easy to sync songs from i-tunes to the i-pod and pictures were easy to transfer to the ipod to we bought some different coloured skins from amazon to as you could easily scratch the case of the ipod for the price you pay you would expect a charger to be included but we got one of those of amazon to its nice to see all the picture covers of the songs youve put onto the ipod the sound quality is great to and theres plenty of equaliser settings to play about with our daughters most impressed with the ipod and thats what counts all in all an excellent gadget but expensive still give it 5 stars though

The ipod nano 3rd generation is a real disappointment. I think most of the reviews written so far have been from people who have only had their ipod for a few days. If you haven't encountered any problems yet I'm sure you will soon because all together I've had 3 ipod nanos and they have all played up and I don't think its a coincedence. At first it works fine as I'm sure everyone will agree but it gets scratched easily, freezes whenever it feels like it and on my current ipod which I have only had for about 2 months the buttons have stopped working and the ipod won't respond. The earphones work fine but apparently break easily as 2 of my friends have told me therefore I think there are more reasons NOT to buy an ipod nano than to buy one. There are a few negative reviews here, whether or not they are by people who have used this new Ipod or not does not matter. Those of you who have used one in the past will know the pros and cons, and this is probably Apple's best yet. I'm not a huge fan of thin styled phones, ipod's etc, and this is easily one of the smallest, but it looks good, and as most people think 'smaller is better', then they should be very pleased. The price is also nice and competetive, especially considering the video playback, and memory capacity. It is also simple to use, and easy to set up.

The new video playback feature works well even with a small screen, as the pixel level is high. So, everything you see will be clear as you could want it to be. You may need to convert file types in order ... Read More:

Bought the refurbished Ipod Nano 2GB white. Have had problems with the software which even my 2 very iPod-savy kids couldn't sort out. I ended up going on holiday with no songs on the iPod at all as the software just wouldn't work despite reinstalling. Wish I had just paid a bit more and got a new iPod. Avoid refurbished ones IMO.
