Just picked up a pair of these today in a sale for £20. I got them for my iPOD shuffle which I was using with the supplied Apple phones.

I tried a few tests comparing them to the supplied Apple phones and also with my Sony 818 Walkman and EX phones.

First up, these phones are a massive improvement on the Apples. In particular the bass response which is non-existent with the phones supplied with an iPOD. They sound equally great with my Sony Walkman. In fact I would say they are a bit better than the Sony EX phones.

My point is that if you have an iPOD you will do yourself a massive favour by upgrading your supplied phones with these. They will transform the sound quality you experience.

Sound wise they're great, in a whole different league to my i-pod headphones.

But the cable is impractically short then with the extension cable ridiculously long! and if like me you lose the extension cable, you can only use the headphones practically in a chest pocket!

Great but stupid!

These are great headphones - I bought them after doing some research online and am seriously glad that I chose these. They look great and they're really comfortable. Sound does leak a bit with these when you turn the volume up since they're open headphones, but according to what I read online you get a better sound with open headphones than you do with closed. I would definitely recommend these.

o Found the bass response limited, and the overall sound a little bright.

o Didn't understand why the ridiculously short cable - iPod would need to be in shirt pocket or on a neck band.

o Fitted in ears without trouble, and had no problem getting sound isolation. Not sure how comfortable they would be in extended use.

o First sound isolating type of earphone that I have tried. Yes it does what it says on the tin - and for some environments that will be good. But its a little disconcerting that you no longer have much in the way of ambient hearing.

Two stars mainly because of value for money - other reputable brands have similar looking products for half the price. Returned on day of delivery for refund, and ... Read More:

I wanted something that would be effective in a noisy office environment and bought these phones after reading the comments on Amazon. Having used them for several months, I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

They're excellent at cutting out the kind of background noise created by air conditioning systems, PCs and the buzz of conversation; not so effective against someone standing next to you and shouting into a mobile, but nothing is (nothing legal, at any rate). The effect is probably best described as bringing the sounds that you're listening to into focus so that you can hear clearly without having to turn the volume up.

I work in Bermuda Triangle. I seriously mean it. The position that attracks most noise at the office. Four loud colleges surround me, a bit far a group of happy inconsiderate junior lot that said they need to talk all the time for high collaboration, next to the toilet, main door, and kitchen. Oh, yeah, just several walk from a meeting room.

Worse yet, my job requires my brain to think.

Just a standard headphone with full volume of loudest Bon Jovi music didn't help... Toughest ear-muff didn't help either. They just either hurt my ear or brought me headache. I have a very sensitive ear, used to be in choir and like music a lot. It was just miserable...

Excellent sound reproduction. Can't see what the problem is with the bass does not sound to much to me. For the price I would say they are a very good choice.
