I bought two of these. I mounted the first successfully and was pretty happy until I realised it wasn't charging my 8310. I then noticed that my SHIFT key was permanently down. Then I noticed that the microphone is hidden - so when your BB is in the mount, handsfree talk is not possible.
So I unwrapped the second one, thinking that maybe I just got a bad lemon. Exactly the same problems: no charging, shift key down and yes, handsfree crap.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT and SHAME ON THE SUPPLIER (greys mobile). I would return them in disgust, but the shipping back to the UK (I'm in South Africa) is about what these things costs.

the unit is fine if you are using it as the only item being powered by your usb port, but these days it's unlikely (printer, mouse, 3g card, multicard adapter etc.). also the unit must take up some power as by pluggin the lead straight into the blackberry will work when trying it through the desk stand will not - blackberry says insufficient power to synchronise. basically you need to power it unless it's the only item attached to the usb port, also you'll need to have a powered multi-usb unit to start with.

A useful item that allows you to charge your phone from your pc, the mains or your car. The only downside is that the usb cable doesn't fuction as a data transfer cable. But then again, it didn't claim it would. 4 stars for a very useful charger, that's just a charger.
