Installation is easy:

1) Connect to mains, dish and Scart
2) Enter your postcode (to access local stations)
3) Walk dog while it tunes itself

Way back in 1936 the BBC jumped from Baird's 30 line to 405 line and proudly declared this to be high definition TV. Around 1962 they jumped again to 625 lines and colour. What we have here is the latest in this long line of development - a satellite receiver capable of 1080 'lines' of resolution. Does it work? The answer is definitely YES.
The Grundig HD picture quality is a vast improvement on the normal SD, with lots of fine detail, purer colours and fewer 'artifacts'. The effect is often startling, a common term used by my friends is '3D'. Downside - nothing really, it needs an HDMI cable and a good cheap one can be bought for about a fiver. The LCD quality in this TV is shockingly bad. Images are often extremely under- or over-saturated with some of the worst false contouring I've seen. Shading (particularly with flesh tones) is non-existent.

I made the mistake of buying this set without viewing it first; don't do the same as me. It's really only suitable for very occasional use in a guest bedroom.

Grundig Emanate GUSBOM08 - Portable Music System for IPOD in Black [Electronics

I bought this to take on holiday with friends who have ipods - although I use my walkman phone. It is advertised as having a 3.5mm jack so that it can play music from any walkman but what is not made clear is that the jack is on the OUTSIDE meaning the non-ipod walkman cannot go inside the waterproof case. This makes is useless on the boat deck etc. for me, but at least my girlfriend and mates can put thier ipod inside it. Well, most of them. My girlfriend's ipod mini does not respond to the controls. This may be a fault in her ipod as we tested with the downstairs' neighbours 30 gig colour one and that worked very well indeed.

Now the good new - I think it sounds great. It is so good I think I will buy an ipod for it. It is coming ... Read More:

I bought this set from QVC and am returning it this week, I agree with other reviews about the screen reflection being poor but the main reason I am getting rid is that a DVD stuck inside the unit and will not eject at all so rendering the dvd player useless. First and last time buying Grudig !
