Way back in 1936 the BBC jumped from Baird's 30 line to 405 line and proudly declared this to be high definition TV. Around 1962 they jumped again to 625 lines and colour. What we have here is the latest in this long line of development - a satellite receiver capable of 1080 'lines' of resolution. Does it work? The answer is definitely YES.
The Grundig HD picture quality is a vast improvement on the normal SD, with lots of fine detail, purer colours and fewer 'artifacts'. The effect is often startling, a common term used by my friends is '3D'. Downside - nothing really, it needs an HDMI cable and a good cheap one can be bought for about a fiver.
