Hyundai HPD719 - 7inch Multi Region LCD portable DVD Player -Silver with Divx +Free Carry Case

I was quite happy with my old Panasonic DVD player until it decided to give up the fight. So I thought the Hyundai HPD719 DVD Player would be the answer to my problems. I was wrong, the screen quality was appalling and to top it of I was supplied with the wrong TV connections.
The quality is cheep and nasty, don't by it if you're used to something better.

I've been wanting a new media storage system as an extra backup for music + pictures for a while so the option of being able to record off tv/dvd/video as well on one piece of kit sold me on buying this. Bought it for £130 plus £80 for a top end Seagate 500GB (32GB) SATA drive - not a bad price all in all. Opening up the unit and inserting the hard drive looks a bit Heath Robinson but all the connections seem pretty well made and it worked fine. Formatting the drive couldn't be easier - plug it into scart on your TV and its all onscreen instructions - I left 250 gb for recording off TV/DVD, a 32 gb FAT32 partition (required if you want to load stuff direct from USB using the integral LINUX operating system) and the rest NTFS.
