Great product easy to use with great sound quality.

Don't know how anyone broke a stylus in 20 minutes. However, as this is a Numark you can buy replacements if you do the same, or much more likely when you wear out the original, for around £8 on a host of web-sites. Even a replacement cartridge is only around £12 online.

It is a disadvantage not having a dust cover so I bought an OK one for around £13 from a US supplier on Amazon markets (look under Numark TTUSB / Ion ITTUSB Dust Cover which takes you to a supplier called DigitalDustCovers).

There are a few direct competitors for this (from Stanton, ION, OEM models & even a much pricier, more featured Numark model) but this seemed to best value ... Read More:

Bought this item about four weeks ago, superb and easy to use software that generally gives you the result you want simply by plug & play. No need to type in 90% of your vinyl tracks as Gracenotes picks it all up as it transfers in 6 easy steps.

Numark DJ i/o Audio Interface

Its a compact unit, infact I chose to secure it inside my deck case as its long USB lead provides plenty of options for laptop placement. At the end of a gig simply unplug the USB lead & pop it back in the deck.

Virtal DJ / Numark Cue instantly recognized it, after the software ( AISO Driver) was installed.

Pro's - Easy, great sound, well priced, reliable!

Cons - If you already get that electronic interference from your laptop power lead, this among many other sound cards is not a fix. Search for a " Ground loop isalator " to buy with this product.

Numark iDJ2 MOBILE DJ WORKSTATION WITH UNIVERSAL DOCK FOR IPOD

When I moved flats a couple of years ago, I thought the time was right to get rid of (some of) the 12"s and put the Technics away. I did miss messing around with tracks and doing the odd bit of mixing, so a partial solution a couple of years back was the Hercules DJ Console running Traktor on my Mac. This was an OK-ish compromise but the software was unstable and the mixer too small to really use properly. The virtual platters were the size of a crumpet and it was too easy to bash the wrong switch. Enter the IDJ2. Got this before Xmas and I must say I am impressed. The controls are intuitive and beat matching/tempo adjustment within the mix are easy (as long as you have some experience of DJing). You can load tracks from your iPod (it won't play copy ...
