Pure EVOKE-2XT, Luxury DAB/FM Portable Radio with Alarm - Maple

Had one for about 10 months now. Well built and very good sound quality, even when used in an internal bathroom (I live in SW London so assume DAB signal is pretty strong). Some small but annoying criticisms though:

1. The necessary charge pack battry is a rip off at £27 extra
2. When powered by battery it has a stupid double-press on button to turn radio back on (press once and it turns off again, need to press twice at carefully spaced interval)
3. No ability to have alarm cancelled at weekends so you need to remember to turn it off every Friday and bakc on Sunday night

This battery is compatible with the Pure Evoke 1S radio , it is expensive but lasts for a long time ( I had it for 2 weeks and so far no need to re charge ).

You might need to order from the pure evoke company directly as it seems to be a shortage at present.

It is fiddly to fit in but there is no need to remove the battery to charge it , just plug the radio the power supply and will recharge quickly.

I wish the radio had one of these fitted to reduce the price a bit.

Pure Élan Portable Stereo DAB/FM Digital Radio

I bought this unit to supplement an Alba DAB with a white on blue scrolling display that has failed after 2 years... so the fact that this has an LCD display was a factor. I'm listening to it at present and the sound quality is good for a small radio, the styling too is pretty neat for a mains/battery radio.... but I'd say this wasn't a mains battery radio. The Alba takes a 240V input or batteries... this unit has a 9v external input and the power adaptor is a generic "block with pins". A small matter but I don't like such things - especially leaving them plugged in (any more than I like phone chargers etc.)

Pure Digital PocketDAB 1000

I walk the dog a lot and take my radio everywhere with me. For a portable device it feels heavy! Functionality of the controls is fine and easy to use, even when wearing gloves. Perceived quality is reasonable and it is quite rugged, having already survived numerous drops (due to catching the ridiculously long headphones lead needed - see comments below). The reception when compared to FM in my area is poor (unlike my previous Philips DAB that died!) I found that the only solution to the reception problems was to spend another £30 spent on a set of decent Sony headphones (to replace the poor standard offerings) and a 1-metre extension lead to improve the signal reception. Pure Evoke-1XT - DAB Digital Radio - Cherry

If you want a radio with an option to use a rechargeable battery pack then you need to but the Pure Evoke 1S not the 1XT as listed below.
I have just purchased the 1S with the battery pack and and it is amazing. I would highly recommend that the ability to take it where you want is well worth the extra cost.

Pure Pocket DAB 2000 Portable DAB/FM Radio & MP3 Player

I've had my DAB 2000 for about a year now: the battery compartment cover falls off, the mains input/battery charger doesn't work anymore and the earphone jack socket keeps cutting out. For the price, the finish can only be described as shoddy. I have two other Pure DAB products, and the pocket radio just doesn't live up to the otherwise high Pure standards.

I've had this unit over 12 months now, and had no problems. The features are amazing to a guy who grew up recording Radio One onto a C-90 cassette!

The build quality of this is fantastic, and is equalled by the sound that it produces. The ability to rewind, replay and record live radio is great, and the facility to insert an SD card is something I use on a daily basis.

I know this unit isn't cheap, but you *DO* only get what you pay for!!
