I have wanted on of these for years, so I did my research and discovered Pure is a top brand. I have been very pleased with the sound quality, and the fact I can get my local radio station (which I was never able to). I am also very pleased with the colour - PINK! - it brightens up my life.

Yea - I ordered one because I wanted to be able to make radio recordings without worrrying tape will run out. 30 hours on a little SD card is amazing. Can go on holiday for 3 or 4 weeks and not miss a radio prog!! I'm very pleased. Recording radio programmes is so easy with the Electronic Programme Guide. For £185 I am very very happy with this unit.
I've been using a Pure One DAB radio (about £50) for over a year and am very pleased with it. But I thought it was time to get something a little more 'upmarket' for the lounge, something with a remote control, excellent DAB reception for classical music and without lots of trailing wires (i.e. separate speakers). Having read all of the reviews it seemed that an Evoke 3 would be almost ideal- almost because it doesn't have a built-in CD- which would have been nice. Anyway, I received the radio last week and thought it worth pointing out a few things which are not apparent from the current reviews. First, the sound is great, but, having more bass, seems more suited to music than voices- of course, you can change the bass and treble, but even so it does not seem ... Read More:

I bought this unit to supplement an Alba DAB with a white on blue scrolling display that has failed after 2 years... so the fact that this has an LCD display was a factor. I'm listening to it at present and the sound quality is good for a small radio, the styling too is pretty neat for a mains/battery radio.... but I'd say this wasn't a mains battery radio. The Alba takes a 240V input or batteries... this unit has a 9v external input and the power adaptor is a generic "block with pins". A small matter but I don't like such things - especially leaving them plugged in (any more than I like phone chargers etc.)
The controls on this unit are a lot better, very simple to use and almost intuitive. The Alba has a matrix of buttons on the front and you almost need a map ... Read More:
