RAC 200 GPS Unit

Right, first of all I totally agree with the other reviewers who say that if you want a cheap sat nav that simply gets you from A to B then get this model. However, if you want a sat nav that is extremely reliable, starts up as soon as you turn it on and doesn't randomly decide to delete all of your stored favourite address' information then I would suggest rustling up the extra money and buying a Tom Tom.

I received this RAC sat nav as a christmas present as I didn't want to ask my parents to pay £100+ for a Tom Tom. It looks fine, although it has nothing against to sleekness a Tom Tom offers, the holder works fine, except I can't personally remove it from my car! so it's staying there for now, and it also manages to get from ... Great entertainment and good company (it does not answer back!)
I bought the sat nav to go on holiday to Cornwall. It helped make the holidays. We named it Veronica. She may take you down some obscure roads but will get you there in the end. (lorry drivers and caravaners beware). I only wish these were available when I was a Rep on the road.
Well worth the money if only for the entertainment.
On the serious side
It takes a few minute to locate the satellites when you first switch on.
Some of the routing is a bit obscure.
It re-calculates very quickly.
The amount of places of interest pre loaded is quite good and you can add your own to the list.

nice features including Fuzzy Logic (will find a location even if you dont have all the postcode or address but, not enough memory to take you from London to Cornwall or Edingburgh in one go. Had a Sony NVU50t before - but even new maps out of date, so decided to change it. At least it took you from A to B without the use of motorways however long the journey.
I've given it 4 stars because if you are only doing short journeys or using motorways you can't go wrong.

Had a Sony NVU50t before - but even new maps out of date, so decided to change it. At least it took you from A to B without the use of motorways however long the journey.
I've given it 4 stars because if you are only doing short journeys or using motorways you can't go wrong.

RAC 220 GPS Unit

This is my first SatNav and I bought this because of the favourable reviews elsewhere and that it had a large screen. I did not want to put my reading glasses on whilst driving.

The unit was simple to use from the box and did not require initial reading of the manual. The unit fitted easily to two different cars (window sucker) and the large screen was not an impediment.

Installation/deinstallation takes time to connect/disconnect the sucker assembly to the window, the unit to the sucker assembly, the car power cable to the lighter socket and the traffic radio arial cable along the width of the dashboard. There is a nice little bag to put the screen and slip it into your large pocket or handbag.
