This is my first portable player, although I have seen and used others belonging to friends, I can truly say how pleased i am with this particular player. It does everytyhing it says on the box. Picture quality is great in all formats including digital TV.I bought the Shinco freeview add-on(although not cheap)and was supprised at how easy it was to set up. using the given arial it picked up 30 stations, however this only worked in some rooms within the house. Fixing an ordinary portable TV arial solved this problem.

Shinco DVB-100T Digital Freeview TV tuner Silver

This Tuner works magic with my 1720 c. Very easy to set up just plug in with the cables supplied and follow a simple automated set up screen.

I bought mine becuase i am constantly travelling on trains so far the tuner has had no problems picking up signals.

The Unit itself is self powering so there is no extra power pack making this fully portable.

I am happy with the quality and would reccomend this to anyone.

For those who havent got a 1720c it also works with a sdp 1280 & sdp 2002.

The picture and sound quality (with close-fitting earphones) are both very good. It plays region 1 and region 2 DVDs with no problem. But there are shortcomings. There appears to be no way to adjust the aspect ratio and classic 5:4 pictures are distorted (too wide). Technically it is sound but the ergonomics need more attention. The screen, being hinged, is awkward to open. (finger-slots at the sides would improve this). The labelling of the controls is meaningless and the handbook is next to useless so that the owner must proceed by trial-and-error. Not particularly good value at the moment but later marks will probably improve.

I bought this player over a year ago and was very pleased with it.The screen is large by general standard and the picyure quality good

However one month after the warranty expired the battery failed then the power input became faulty and it has now packed in totally

Tried to contact Shinco direct Impossible
I would avoid and stick to main known brands

I had been looking for a sat nav for a number of months, my main criteria was that it should have European maps as I travel to Europe often.

My initial thought was to go for the Tom Tom (One V2 Europe), however after doing some more research, I came across an article in the Auto Express which only rated the Tom Tom as recommended.

The Best buy was the Shinco 350 which came out top, and after owning this I can see why as bonus you can play your MP3 music and MPEG movies from this devise.

Having tired of unreliable dvdr playback on portable dvd players, decided to try this - glad I did. Instructions are a bit rubbish but its fairly intuitive, the feel of it is quite sleek, the only downside so far is that the buttons take a few clicks to work and the remote can be the same, but its bearable.
Just load mp4 versions of your movies and they play really well - good quality and still good when you hook it up to your tv. I use dvdfab platinum 4 for conversion which is very good but takes about 90 mins to convert a film to mp4, then about 4 min to transfer the file.No software it just shows as an external drive and must be used with pc - it obviously doesnt play discs,but has sd/mmc/cf inputs for transfer without pc.
