iRiver Clix 2 8GB MP3 Player

To start with, when I bought clix2, I wasn't after video playback, as I'd rather use my laptop to watch video playback on the move.

Let's comment on everything else though

Pros:
- incredibly beautiful sound (and I really mean it)
- very very good looking
- flash based gui
- video/picture support
- fantastic amoled screen
- good battery life
- fm radio

Cons:
- switching between modes (mtp/msc) causes weird behaviour on occasions
- supplied headphones not what you'd call 'great'
- lack of accessories (apart from cradle speaker which is worthless anyway)

Whenever I read MP3 player reviews, I'm astounded by how much focus there is on how the thing looks compared to how well it works. I've had a bunch of MP3 players over the years and this is by far the easiest to use, you can practically navigate through songs from the outside of your pocket. Syncs easily with WMP, or you can easily drag and drop songs straight to the player. Also, a massive bonus is that no software or drivers are required to install it. There are loads of great features which are also easy to use, you can download different themes which change the appearance of all the menus for example. Battery life is satisfactory as well. All in all, a first class player.

I've had a bunch of MP3 players over the years and this is by far the easiest to use, you can practically navigate through songs from the outside of your pocket. Syncs easily with WMP, or you can easily drag and drop songs straight to the player. Also, a massive bonus is that no software or drivers are required to install it. Oh yes, expansion slot - it's got one - add up to another 8GB via micro SD card. Good sized, clear screen in comparison to overall size. Can be used with/without headphones as there's two inbuilt speakers. Easy to set up & use. Transfer/play using either Windows Media Player or iriver 3 software (included with player). Downside? Instruction manual (included on CD) messy & difficult to pinpoint what you're looking for. When printed, it's very small & the white on pale grey of some pages very difficult to read. I spent a full day comparing all the various personal DABS and mp3 players on the market. I wanted a DAB radio for the quality, but was torn between this and an FM radio to ensure that I could get a reception anywhere I went.
It was becoming a fruitless search to find the player which ticked all the boxes for me until I found the Iriver B20. I had DAB and FM saving me from making the choice, and with 4gb memory space and a memory card slot if you need more space. It seemed too good to be true.
Not wanting to rush in I spent a few hours googling Iriver B20 and I didn't see any bad reviews or at least anything to put me off ordering it so I did.
It arrived the day after I ordered it can honestly say I am not disappointed.

I bought this as a replacement to my aging Creative Zen Micro as I have heard very good things about iRiver. When I received my package, it was tiny, this player is small! The player comes with preloaded movies, music and photos as a demo. I plugged it in and started transferring my own music which all went well.

It was after I plugged in my headphones I realized two things. 1) The unit does not come with a wall charger. This is a large let down to the product, as you can only charge with a PC. I would rather have a plug to charge it over night or on the train. This seems to be the norm in players these days though. 2) The unit's sound is very clear. iRiver's players are very good at delivering the standard of music you expect.
