After reading various reviews on personal DAB radios I nearly gave up the idea. In the end I took the plunge and opted for the Roberts as we already have two Roberts DABs in the house which we love. I wanted the radio for walking the dog and the odd bit of jogging through the fields and lanes in Devon. Although the man in the shop said it's not designed for jogging, it seems to love it! It's amazing. Reception is brilliant, just the very occasional bit of burbling when you go into a dip to cross a river, but it doesn't mean you can't hear what's being said. Fits well into a pocket. Casing and controls feel really good. Buttons and control wheel don't get moved by accident, although there is a lock for the control wheel. Supplied earphones ... Read More:

If you live in an area where FM & MW signals are medium or strong, this is an excellent radio. The sound is rich & clear, the presets are easily adequate, there are no fiddly extra features that you don't need, and it's a pleasure to use.
I live in an area where the signals are weak, and it's poor here. A little Sony ICF-S10MK2 can grab the waves, having a proper antenna, but the 'phones on this model, good as they sound, don't work too well as an antenna. I tried other 'phones, to no avail.
So it's brilliant, or no good, depending on where you'll use it.
I bought one of these to use in the garden, being no mains power and not wanting to spend a small fortune on 6 'D' sized batteries for my other radio.
First impressions: Good quality build, rubberised controls, but no carrying handle. Headphone socket, mains adaptor socket and MP3 inputs on rear case. The mains adaptor itself covers 100-240V. You also have menu options as per which country you want the radio 'set up' to work in when you first switch it on.
Battery pack is 3 'AA' sized 2000mA nimh batteries wrapped in plastic that fit in a compartment in the bottom of the radio secured with 2 screws and has a tiny plug/socket connection.Has a rubber-ducky type antenna, which screws into place on the top. This has a telescopic ... Read More:
I just bought this from Comet for £19.99 and at that price I'd say it was a reasonable product. The DAB tuning is very quick, signal strength high and there is very little lag when switching between stations.
As far as sound quality is concerned it's a step up from a clock radio, not exactly hi-fi, but the unit is pretty small. I am very pleased with the functionality and its ok for short listening periods. I am not sure I would be as enthusiastic if I'd paid nearly £50 for it as I think that for that money you would get a very much better FM radio. DAB radios are very much overpriced at the moment.
This radio requires 6, not 4, AA batteries. I power it by mains and feed the output into an amplifier.
On FM there is a high-pitched whine if the amplifier gain is turned up too high. On DAB there is a low-frequency clicking sound. I can remove most of these extraneous noises by turning down the external amplifier's gain and using the radio's own volume control to give what are still adequate volume levels.
Five presets is really too few, especially on DAB.
The quality of the DAB broadcasts is inferior to that of the FM broadcasts, as the high frequencies are noticeably attenuated. However, this probably isn't the radio's fault. DAB is broadcast at too low a bit rate for music; it's significantly lower than I would ... Read More:
I bought this to have in my bathroom based on a review on "The Gadget Show" and have been very impressed. I have had a couple of cheap DABS in the past, but due to being in a Radio singal blackspot I've not been very impressed until I got this one. the reception is perfect (I can't even get digital TV where I live). great sound quality too and the battery life is something like 80 hours + !! .... It's easy to use and setup.. (no istruction manual required)..
The build quality feels good and I'd imagine this would bush off a heavy knock or two or any amount of heavyhandidness.
I have bought another one for the kitchen and am contemplating buying the optional battery pack too. in summery, this looks good, it's easy to set up. lasts ages, ... Read More:
If you are looking for a stylish portable DAB radio you could do a lot worse than this. Of course it helps if you live in an area with a good signal, we are in the heart of rurla Leistershire and can pick up about 30 channels on it.
The sound quality is excellent, there is a lot of depth and richness to the sound, even at low volume. It is also easy to switch channels and gives you a lot of information.
But best of all it is very good value for money. Roberts is teh leader in this field and in most shops these models go for over £100.
