These were the first noise cancelling headphones I've used. For the price I feel they do a decent job of reducing the background noise on planes, and generally I can't believe that much more expensive models could do a vastly superior job. Why spend £200 more? Can't see the point myself. Give these a go and see for yourself.

I alreay owned a pair of PX200, but I wanted something different for everyday use on the bus/tube to work. I bought these purely on the good reviews, and also because having previously owned some other Senns I liked their sound.
I don't listen to my music too loud and these are pretty good. I have most of my music at 320Kbps or higher and that allows me to not having to push the volume up in the red.
Only drawback so far is that they thend to hurt a bit the top area of my ears, although they might not be as well adjusted as they could since I also wear specs.

For many years BOSE® has been synonymous with "great sound" and, in general, if you bought a BOSE® product you wouldn't be disappointed.
Unfortunately, for me, that wasn't the case with their TriPort® in ear headphones. For the money, I was expecting these to be the last pair of headphones I'd ever had to buy - unless, of course, I damaged or lost them. No such luck!
Don't get me wrong, there's nothing fundamentally "wrong" with these headphones. But, by the same token, they're not so great as to warrant the large price tag.
As far as sound goes, I have no real cause for complaint. Although, if I'm perfectly honest, I didn't notice any great difference between these and the free-bee Sony ones I got with ... Read More:

As an Audiophile I search for things to juice out as much perfomance out of a product. These headphones for sound are weak. They sound like someone who has a cold. The only good points are the design, quality of the build and comftable. I recomend you buy the Skullcandy Smokin Buds. At a fair price these can perform 45% better than the Sony headphones.

I previously owned the Shure E3c earphones but didn't get on with them at all. Bass was really really weak, and found them very uncomfortable and intrusive.
Took a risk and bought the Sennheiser CX 500's and was blown away.
The sound, especially bass, is really good (I actually had to turn the bass down on my ipod eq to listen to rock/metal - but would be superb for dance etc.)
They fit really well, just sit inside the ears, no need to squeeze them in until they're almost touching your brain. Just pop them in to get a good seal.
They are also extremely lightweight(earphones and the cable) which means you hardly feel them, and also they stay in your ears.
The high range doesn't quite match the E3C's with ... Read More:

On the basis that I read all the reviews before buying this (good and not so good), have never been too keen on blue tooth and don't traditionally like 'neck-band' type ear-phones, I guess this is the review to read !!
I decided to take the gamble (at £54) because I dislike cables even more than the above gripes.
It gets 5 stars, because I guess Logitech are working with the limitations of the technology, so in an ideal world it could all do with being a little less bulky, but we're not there yet.
So my review is very similar to the star-rating of 'Erasumus' of Canada Water below...but in addition..
The earphones are fine. They work for me because the little extra weight of the ear-pieces keeps them in ... Read More:

a year ago i bought the Sony Walkman Video NWA-806 and it went with the MDR-EX082 earphones with it. i consider myself a Sony-type of person as the sound of it's Walkmans (paired with Sony buds) are excellent and nothing compares.
fast forward to 2008 i sold my Walkman and bought the bril Samsung P2 MP3 player. didn't liked the earpphones that went with it so i bought a new pair of AKG 324P in-ear buds. the mid & long range bass especially in loud volumes regardless of EQ settings become distorted and not "solid" enough for me as i also consider myslef a bass-ey type of person. treble was fair.
i bought this buds mainly because of the (surprise...surpise) reviews here and it apparently belongs to the "noise-cancelling earphones " category. ... Read More:

Lost count of the number of sets of earphones I have gone through. Lost, trod on or died due to a broken cable but never been that sad because the sound quality was usually not that good.
Well, having had the Ultimates Ears for a couple of weeks now I would be VERY sad if the same fate befell them because the quality is excellent. Like most here did quite a bit of dithering because they are quite expensive but guess what? They really are worth it!
However, they seemed very tight to me, which made them rather unconfortable to wear, especially for longer periods. I found it more comfortable to wear them backwards. (Not a difference that matters when listening to music, but more important if you were using them to play computer games, for example.)
They have a short cable, which makes them better for listening to an mp3 player, but again less suitable as a computer accessory.
I managed to break my pair by tripping over the cable while they were plugged into my desktop, and the plug sheared off. Not really a manufacturing fault, but my old headphones were able to take a lot more punishment.
