Had two pairs of these now and the sound quality is excellent. They're great for on the train as you can listen at a quite loud volume yet remain inaudible to others (a pet hate of mine is people with cheap phones that you can hear from 30 feet away, argh thats inconsiderate). These earbuds solve that problem.

The one downside is the cable: this is rubberised and tends to stick to itself and to other stuff, so much so that it caused me to jerk the first pair out of my ears and wreck them.

I was very undecided after reading mixed reviews for this type of product but have been very please. They make a tremendous difference with regular noise. I find that on Aeroplanes they make a great reduction to the engine noise. if you listen to the movie or your IPOD at a comfortable level with the noise reduction on, and then turn it off, the background noise completely drowns the music. This just shows how effective they are. Being able to listen at this queiter level is good for your ears and general tiredness. The sound quality is very reasonable.
The phones have to be fitted carefully, and become uncomfortable after about 3 hrs. I find theat when I don't want to listen to music, I can just put them on to reduce noise levels.

THE GOOD: Beautifully comfortable, you could wear these for hours. 3m lead. Truly awesome for Hip Hop and Drum & Bass thanks to the good real deep bass.
THE BAD: Their strength in the above music actually becomes a weakness in most other types of music [and vocal] where the bass developes a rather boomy quality. The biggest disappointment is at the top end where they lack any real brilliance.
THE UGLY: I'll need to buy an additional pair of headphones

ok, this is not a top of the range earphone, but it does give a decent sound quality. it tends to look poorly built, but so far I have not had any problems with it.
it is not sound isolating, which is not very good, because when you are listening to music, you will still everything around you, unless you put it on full volume.
the volume control button seemed useless to me, and a bit annoying cause if your earphones are in your pocked or something, it might turns it down, so everytime you gotta check to see if it is on high.
Not bad for earphones, they do the job required, the sound quality is OK, but my old Philips did a lot better job, for almost the same price.

I purchased these headphones to replace those supplied with my ipod.
The sound was fairly good for the price however there is a fair amount of 'wire noise' whilst walking.
Sadly one of the earpieces stopped working after 2 months - I am looking for an alternative replacement.

Lost count of the number of sets of earphones I have gone through. Lost, trod on or died due to a broken cable but never been that sad because the sound quality was usually not that good.

Well,having had the Ultimates Ears for a couple of weeks now I would be VERY sad if the same fate befell them because the quality is excellent. Like most here did quite a bit of dithering because they are quite expensive but guess what? They really are worth it!

yep, these are a rip off, they should come in packs of 6 in a specific size as you know what size your ears are after you bout the headphones in the first place and they came with a pair of each size to try.

However, these are cheaper than Shure equivalents, then again Sony is not in the same price bracket as Shure either. It's really annoying paying £4 per piece of usable rubber (for my ears) yet, these headphones (phontopias) are really good for the money, I just better look after the rubbers better!

On the basis that I read all the reviews before buying this (good and not so good), have never been too keen on blue tooth and don't traditionally like 'neck-band' type ear-phones, I guess this is the review to read !!

I decided to take the gamble (at £54) because I dislike cables even more than the above gripes.

It gets 5 stars, because I guess Logitech are working with the limitations of the technology, so in an ideal world it could all do with being a little less bulky, but we're not there yet.

So my review is very similar to the star-rating of 'Erasumus' of Canada Water below...but in addition..

Excellent sound quality.

However, they seemed very tight to me, which made them rather unconfortable to wear, especially for longer periods. I found it more comfortable to wear them backwards. (Not a difference that matters when listening to music, but more important if you were using them to play computer games, for example.)

They have a short cable, which makes them better for listening to an mp3 player, but again less suitable as a computer accessory.

I managed to break my pair by tripping over the cable while they were plugged into my desktop, and the plug sheared off. Not really a manufacturing fault, but my old headphones were able to take a lot more punishment.

These produce a really good sound for the price. The only thing to bear in mind is that they fall out of your ear very easily, so pretty useless for jogging. However, the Shure PA752M Foam Sleeves fit on them perfectly: with these they stay in your ears and sound even better. So I'd recommend buying some of those too.
