Whilst the item is both lacking as a cool, hip iPod accessory and bereft of utility as actual pedal-wear, it does have one particular use. In the event of being mugged for your precious iPod, combining the audio-visual equipment with the sock produces, in MacGuyver-esque brilliance, a makeshift flail, capable of dissuading even the most impetuous of assailants.

2 stars for intended purpose.
5 stars as self defense implement.

I bought one of these 3 months ago and have had no problems at all since I first got it. Sound quality is very good and I also got the full set of mains adaptors, and those worked fine too. My only criticism is that it should be sold with a mains charger as standard. I just got the Travel Sound docking speakers-excellent sound quality for their size.

I bought this just as another MP3 player with a huge size and lo what i found was - its marvelous

You can store most of your documents and pictures as well as your entire favourite music gallery and yet - there is always space in it...

It has never disappointed with its battery life so far - and is a wonderful and strong player compared to others....

However, people may find it difficult to carry - due to its bulk - for me this has never been a problem. I have a small wallet - large enough to zip my beloved archos in it and carry with me when i am jogging or on the move...

Its a wonderful library of movies, songs and ebooks for me - though i have never used it to read any of the ebooks!

I purchased thsi unit many as a cheap option for my wife (and no i am not tight) she just wanted something simple to use for her running, and there was no point in spending loads of dosh on a one minute wonder. (hope she does not read this?)and this unit did not hit any of these buttons.I purchase this on the basis of the other 2 reviews and thought well if its that easy to use i will it ago.


This is by far the worse purchase I have had for a long long time. When I purchased this item it had so many issues wrong with it, I can't believe I thought about keeping it, any way it's going back and I will be insisting on a full refund.

There is little metal here! Externally this is 95% plastic. The silvery bits that you can see on the photo, I thought they were metal chrome. That's one of the reasons I bought it. But they're plastic painted to look silver.

Externally the only metal you can see are the central turntable spindle, and the pickup arm.

OK, so these things are just cosmetics. But further disappointment came when I played records. The mechanism works very well. The lever for raising/lowering the pickup works smoothly, and the platter starts in response to the arm being moved. But the sound quality is just terrible. I am using this with a Ipod Nano and it is pretty good and a nice design. takes up little desk space. sound is pretty good and there is a remote - takes a bit to get used to and really needs line of sight.

only down point is that at lower volumes, when long track names are played, the title scrolls across the screne and a clicking noise comes out (a bit like the clicking noise when using the wheel thingy but not so loud - and yes, i have the clicker turned off on the ipod). Mines is on my work desk and right close to me. move it further away and the noise is not heard.

annoying enough for me to take back though.

No complaints, very good at what it does. You simply slip over the membraine and then snap-click the front cover. I like the fact that the front cover has a protective plastic screen, which itself is very hard-wearing. The rear belt-clip is removable (my preference) and the headphone & USB connection points are also protected with dust covers...

Well worth the money if you really want to protect your iPod! Looks cool, just beware that the membraine that covers your scroll-wheel is clear(ish) rubber so it will show the original colour of your iPod through... on the pictures, it looks like white plastic!!!

Here's my review of plus/minus points on a scale:
+3: The sound quality. Cannot be bettered, so superior to the iPod Nano in this regard that it's laughable.
+2: It charges to full very quickly, even though it's a USB charge. Seems to charge from flat to full in less than an hour which is pretty quick compared to other players.
+1: The FM radio is actually useful, much better than a lot of radios on larger players like the Zen Micro, which I struggled with.
0: Doesn't come with a mains charger. Not necessary though, as it charges from USB, but USB mains chargers are available separately.
-1: Slightly concerned about the flimsy feel of the buttons. Only a minor point, but would've been nice to have a more solid feel.
