I am sorry but 5 stars is not enough. This quite simply is the best bit of kit you will ever buy. Do not dither i beseech you. I ummed and aahed for a day or so so you can count me as having done the dithering for you if you like.
It looks like not of this earth when you power it up and from then on in it does not disappoint. It is quite simply incredible. The build quality and the sheer amount of stuff it can do is staggering. All this with an interface even a hamfisted dimwit like myself picked up without recourse to instructions. As with all ipods, sling the supplied phones...i am sure this is an in joke at Apple...for any worth a tenner or better and you are away.
Sure all the techies will moan that 32gb ... Read More:

I have both ipod classic and ipod nano, to be frank none of the ipods come near to walkman MWZA816B, the sound is superb and of very high qaulity, the earbud which come with it is excellent, I even tried it with pro-headphone, without noticing any fault in music qaulity. stick to sony's earphones and you will be better of. if you have small library of albums the 816 is the right set for you.
I hope you will enjoy your unit the way I enjoy mine.

Fantastic little player. Having owned both a Sony mp3 player (Great player, rubbish, chunky, DRM infected software) and an iPod (Just plain rubbish, returned after 4-5 months, in which time I'd already had two full replacements - and iTunes is just yuk *shudder*) This little thing puts them both firmly in the shade.
I've owned it now for about 3 months and had no issues whatsoever. Like a lot of the people on here the fist thing I did was to flash the firmware, updating the player with the US firmware as it got rid of the rather low EU set volume level limit (A good idea in practice - but I use the thing in a gym and other types of noisy areas)
It has performed flawlessly since, you don't even need the supplied software as it integrates ... Read More:

I recently bought this item from Amazon after a short bit of deliberation. I, like many others read the reviews on this player and thought about whether or not I wanted an alternative to the iPod.
Its true, the iPod is one of the most successfully launched products in the history of the world but by god, can this player compete!
The player does everything that the iPod does with ease and in half of the size too. The player has an added bonus of being expandable to the High Speed SD format which is a real plus.
Its cheaper than an iPod Nano and better looking too.
The gloss finish makes the player look slick and really helps to finish off the unit. I think you will be impressed with the lightness of ... Read More:

I love my ipod. I use it every day. It got me through all my revision and i dont know how i lived without it. But this week it has stopped working on me and im fairly sure that this is the worst day of my life. Can anyone tell me how to fix my ipod?? It wont turn on and if it does, it turns off again before i can do anything with it. It sometimes wont even turn off!!! Its really confusing and i would love to know if there is anyone who knows where i can get it fixed?? in Northern Ireland. Why some people choose to dismiss this player or moan about it's lack of features is beyond me! It's simply brilliant! I use mine purely for the gym, so where else could you expect to get 250 tunes on an mp3 player which is lightweight can clip on your pocket and not even know it's there and not have to worry about breaking it? I used to take my 30gig ipod with me to the gym and after it falling off the equipment so many times and bearing in mind it usually fell onto something made of cast metal, not ideal really when you have a screen to break! So the fact that it doesn't have a screen is a bonus for me cos it's less to worry about and why are you ever likely to want more than 100 let alone 250 tunes on it when you can simply change them anytime you like on itunes. ... I spent a long time resisting the lure of the iPod, thinking that those who worshipped them were confusing the container with its contents. I could see the point of being able to carry around all your music, but - having a fairly large collection - was all too aware of the limitations of the earlier models (and indeed of the early MP3 players). In addition, they just seemed too darned expensive for what they did. Of course, advances in technology and fashion increased the capacity and decreased the price, with the result that this, the larger of the two 6th generation models, currently represents the best value for money as regards space. What's more, it looks as if this won't change very much in the future: with the advent of the iPhone and its touch interface, ... Read More:

I was bought an iPod 16gb for christmas, my first MP3 player. It was a generous gift but my wife only bought it because she liked the gimmicky photo rotation trick. Even that does not work properly sometimes - angling the photo at right angles to how I want to see it. As a music player i don't think it is anything special - maximum volume can come across as quite quiet on some recordings. It's a pain to adjust the volume while playing music: first press the menu button, then slide finger across screen to activate controls then adjust volume setting. Not exactly as simple as rotating a wheel on an iPod classic!
Video picture quality is good, but fast forwarding and rewinding is tricky to control since the scroll bar is so small you can only slide it to within an ... Read More:

If you're the sort who likes to have their gadjets big enough to flaunt or so you can easily bore your fellow Dan Dare reading chums with the latest stuff then the Shuffle may not do the trick. It does not have a screen or a keyboard and it doesn't make tea in the morning. Smaller than a matchbox or book of stamps, and clipping on to your clothes, it simply delivers top level music (shuffled or unshuffled) for someone with a moderate desire for their library. And it does it for around thirty quid.
Its limitations are clearly size of library, and then there's finding it if you've put it down somewhere. Other than that, it is spot on.

Until recently I had been using an 8GB Sansa E200 from Sandisk and had been very happy with that, minor software problems aside. I was tempted across to the Creative ZEN 32GB player due mostly to the sheer size of the memory and also through the ability to add storage in SDHC format and also the built-in FM radio...and have been extremely happy with it.
It is extremely simple and intuitive to use for both the menu and also the ability to work well with Windows Media Player (which the Sandisk never quite behaved with). It looks very good and has an excellent screen quality. The sound quality is very, very good and shows no distortion at all when cranked right up or when any of the custom equalizer settings are set up to max 12.
I did have a bit of an issue with the ... Read More:
