I will probably write a more comprehensive review when have more experience of it but I just wanted to mention something that I haven't seen mentioned in any other reviews or technical information, i.e. the fact that this player allows you to record directly off the radio, as well as through the microphone. I find this really useful for ad hoc recordings although the fact that it records in 16bit/24kHz WAV format means that the most you could record is about 3 hours with nothing else in the memory.

I do love my new Creative Zen Stone, but I only wanted a tiny mp3 player to put my favourite tracks on to so that I can carry it around easily and listen to everything on shuffle. It's brilliant for that. (I already have a 30GB Creative Zen vision for *all* my music.)
I haven't bothered with the headphones, as I have a much better set. I reckon Creative should break the mould and offer their mp3s without headphones for those who are clued up to the `the headphones that come with mp3 players are usually duff' fact of life. There is some background noise but I only notice it between tracks and that's only if I'm paying attention. If it's noticeable all the time, it's a good sign you're damaging your ears with the volume you're using.

This is my first Pod. Its a fantastic little gadget. I use it walking to and from work and at lunchtime. Its extremely light and clips onto a shirt, tie, belt or jacket. Its easy to use and you get a good 12 hours from a very quick charge up [2-3 hours]. Quality is good and better than some MP3's i've tried and I like the headphones. They are comfortable and good enough quality. Maybe a bit light on the bass.
The only criticism is the fact that you can't select the music you want to listen to and after a while its something I miss. You can listen to whats installed in order or shuffled up. My advice is to fill it up with music at the start.
I only gave it 4 stars because of its limitations. I now realise I should ... Read More:

Why some people choose to dismiss this player or moan about it's lack of features is beyond me! It's simply brilliant! I use mine purely for the gym, so where else could you expect to get 250 tunes on an mp3 player which is lightweight can clip on your pocket and not even know it's there and not have to worry about breaking it? I used to take my 30gig ipod with me to the gym and after it falling off the equipment so many times and bearing in mind it usually fell onto something made of cast metal, not ideal really when you have a screen to break! So the fact that it doesn't have a screen is a bonus for me cos it's less to worry about and why are you ever likely to want more than 100 let alone 250 tunes on it when you can simply change them anytime you ... Now, I haven't owned this item but I did own something simillar to this: A Technika MP3 Player with 4GB of Memory and it ONLY played music and voice recordings.
Eventually it stopped working so hurray to that.
Well, in my opinion, this is when Sony were testing the waters with MP3 technology. The latest one, the one that I own is Sony at its swash- bunking best. this is just a test run to many of the other exciting products they can make in the near future.

A real disappointment. Easily gets scratched, froze at one point when I hadn't even had it for a month and now the buttons won't work and the ipod isn't responding. I would really recommend NOT to buy this product and I'm going to return mine as soon as I can. I had two ipod nanos before the one I have now and they both froze which was really frustrating and you'd think apple would have improved the 3rd gen in more ways than just 'a brighter and wider screen' etc. Apple clearly are not what everybody makes them out to be. Yes the ipod is attractive and compact but to be honest thats about all there is to it.

My husband bought this item for me for my birthday last year. Looks good, but could only be charged via pc and so useless for holidays. I bought the docking speakers to use with this item so that I would get more use out of it as it charged whilst docked. After 1 month of using the docking speakers the player would not work. I paid £60 for the speakers and now have not got a player that works! Bit of a rip off if you ask me. I also have noticed how many of these players are for sale on Amazon "refurbished" which leads me to believe this is happening a lot.
cant fault this one, sound quality super, did what it says, bought 2 from different sellers and one also had a led torch on the end of it,, suberb.
buy this and you will be impressed

I too read lots of reviews, having heard the Bose SoundDock but not wanting to spend that much money. The im600 is a nice little design, but not even in the same league as the Bose. I bought the im600, but have returned it, and bought the Bose. Once you have heard a Bose system, nothing else comes close. Whilst the im600 sound is clear, it lacks the round, warm depth and crystal clarity the Bose delivers. If you really love your music, quality doesn't come cheap, I'm afraid. My advice is to listen to the Bose soundDock before deciding.
