Oh dear. I bought the Zen Nano to replace the generic player I had (and because the i-river player I was after was out of stock everywhere.) Firstly the earbuds were far too large for my (probably average sized) ears. Not a problem as I already had some good quality buds. Second, the FM radio didn't work. Not a peep. As I bought the Zen primarily for mp3 playback I decided against the hassle of sending it back. Another irritation was that there is no "Hold" switch - this function is accessed via the menu. On the upside, playback quality was good as was battery life. However, the final straw came when the tag that secures the battery cover broke (under normal use). Bearing in mind that the cover would be removed probably every couple of days ... Read More:

I was so looking forward to getting a new Sony Walkman, my old Connect player had served me well. I no problem with the older model loading, programming etc. I have tried for two days to get this one to work, I followed all the instructions to a letter, which is not easy as you have to remember to charge it fully first, which it doesn't actually tell you to do. It just tells you how to charge it. Eventually after naming my model "Maud" and managing to load a couple of albums onto it, I unplugged it from the computer and listened. Yes the sound quality is fantastic. Great I thought let's load some more stuff. Computer now does not recognise ''Maud''. So unless you want a lot of frustration from my point of view leave it well alone.

Was bought for me Christmas 2006, all went well untill July o8.Would not turn off even when trying to reset unit. Next morning totally dead , would not even charge or be recognised by my pc.This nano has never been away from my workout station, never dropped or missused, so why????????
Have to go for another, trying for Nano 3rd gen, as I have only just bought expensive dock, hope i have more luck this time.
I would recommend 100% if it had been more reliable.

I am very happy with this gadget. I wanted a music player I can use with either Windows or my preferred Ubuntu Linux machine, and this does the trick nicely. It plays ogg vorbis (along with the other usual suspects). This device uses the MTP protocol to communicate with the host system. This is now supported on Linux. I'm using the RhythmBox software that comes with Ubuntu/GNOME. Note that you have to explicitly enable the MTP plug-in.
Anyway, very happy. Good sound, good features, bargain price!

6 months ago i decided to buy an 8gb mp3 player with video playing abilities and a decent screen. I did a lot of reseach and bought the Samsung yp-p2. Probally the best decision of my life. The P2 is a touch screen video and music player, that has a very 'easy to use' interface and crystal clear screen(sorry for the cliche). Yes, the P2 has a few faults but its stunning music, video, picture, radio and bluetooth capabilities easily make up for this. Samsung obviously has put a lot of work and thought into this media player and it shows. Here are the good and bad bits.
Good:
- Great music and video quality
- Very easy to use touch screen interface
- Stunning looks
- Solid build quality

The Navigo 855 GPS is really an amazing instrument with many additional features besides the standard GPS Navigation. I compared the routes with Google Maps and the routes are the same and distance-time parameters match too. Compared to the TomTom One & RAC200, the speeds and the accuracy match.
I would recommend this product to everybody who doesn't want to waste money on brand names like TomTom etc. Speed camera locations are missing, but than you can download it from the internet as points of interest.
The other features like MP3 player & Video player are an absolute gem considering you can pick this model up for less than £70.00 inc. nowadays. In short an absolute bargain and certainly gives the more expensive brands a run for ... Read More:

Don't get an iPod! They are highly overated and more often than not are owned as status symbols. I switched from iPod to sony after about 8 months because I was tired of having to buy downloads from itunes that my sister had already downloaded from virgin media which are compatable with practically all makes of mp3 player except for iPod. There are loads of alternatives out there that dont get enough recognition, are cheaper and do EXACTLY the same thing (Except are compatible with so many more download sites)!!!!

Nice little internet radio / media player.
Bought it for my wife who loves it. She is able to listen to all her music I put onto our UPNP media server.
We have it connected via a wireless router so one may take it anywhere round the house where there's a 13Amp socket and in range of the router.
Only locked-up/software crash once in the three months she's owned it. Don't think it liked my internet connection being interrupted whilst listening to an internet radio station.
Mono speaker a bit poor, but it does have RCA left and right stereo outputs to connect to ones Hi-Fi if you need better sound quality.

Cute, light and good looking - who could ask for anything more?
Well we all could to be honest, because we could ask for power and this cute little device has none. Simple to use, has many, many functions - although it includes an FM radio which I am guessing wont be too useful when the big digital switch over happens - and will take most formats (a major plus over any iEquipment).
But there is always a trade off and here it is power. The life of the thing is about 6 hours. I am not kidding, 6 hours and that is rubbish. As much as I dislike iEquipment, now, at least the stuff stayed charged.
Which is a real shame, because I want to like Creative products. In PCs they are great but this is my first relationship with them outside of a PC (please keep ... Read More:

Despite what it says regarding minimum system requirements, (XP SP2 + WMP10), you can easily get this player working with Windows Me or 98SE, with earlier versions of WMP, simply by changing the USB mode, (Settings > USB mode), to "MSC". The player then appears in My Computer as a Removable Disk (e.g. E:\) and you just drag-and-drop your music files to the "Music" folder (E:\Music). Easy!
The internal battery takes about 4 hours to fully charge through the USB2 port on my PC. However, it'll also charge using a mains-to-USB charger, which you'd need if you plan to having the player away from your computer for some time e.g. on holiday. Haven't timed how long a full charge lasts but it appears pretty good. Sound quality seems very good to me through Sony or Sennheiser earphones ... Read More:
