After years of suffering jumpy, easily scratched CDs, I had to think of either an MP3 or a MD player.. For some reason I couldn't cope with the unreal, untouchable MP3 player and I am now the happy owner of a Sony MZ-N505. It is a versatile player allowing you to shuffle recordings, combine tracks into groups and true to it's interactive Net claim, it specialises in working through your PC to deliver faultless sound quality, important if you are a musician.. The supplied earphones resist every attempt of a manic drummer to dislodge and the USB cable is, for once, long enough to keep in place at your PC without having to slide it out of the workstation every time.. All in all, a professional piece of kit..

I bought this play-only unit after my old Sony recordable walkman (MZ-R50) started to die from 5+ years of heavy use. I only wanted a playable walkman and this fitted the bill better than the older and less common models such as the MZ-E75.

The MZ-E500 is well priced, small sized and has all the features and battery life I was after. It supports playback of the recent MDLP standard and comes with a special rechargeable battery and mains charger that you plug the battery into for charging. It can take a AA battery with the additional, screw on case.

Notable features are the excellent stick remote, with the ability to program track order, and it's good button configuration and size/weight.

This is an awsome MD. I come from australia and we don't get the AC adapter but i still think its the madest MD. I put 4 albums onto a 74 minute TDK minidisc using the LP4 mode (which in my opinion stands for 4 cds) and the sound quility is awsome. The MD has a mad bass and the features are endless. it even has AVSL which limits the speakers to a certain volume to so you can't blow the headphones or stuff your ears. Great buy.

I bought this minidisc player a couple of weeks ago. I have had many CD players but this thing is far superior. I thought I would buy an MD player, get up with the latest technology but i had no idea that MD players were this good. I would have bought 1 years ago otherwise. The sound quality is great and you can fit more than 4 cds onto 1 MD. The digital mega bass is superb as it really emphasises the backround sounds. I would recommend anyone to buy this product. PHAAAT.

there are those who like ipod and there are a few faithful md fans who have stuck by sony. this player is truely a joy, sound quality is amazing, and looks wise you just cant beat it. Hang it round ur neck using the metal hole on one side of the player and people are more interested in it than an ipod! most peeps have ipods, this is something quite special

downside, its not compatable with hi-md the new replacement system as of august this year, if you want even better sound quality and even larger capactity md's hold out till september and buy yourself a hi-md walkman!!!
