I had to return mine, as it didn't work at all using batteries and even using mains it was unreliable - sometimes cutting off for no reason.
I bought another (from a different supplier) and the same thing happened, so this one had to be returned too.
No way would I recommend this to anyone.

This discman plays anything you throw at it. Mp3s, ATRAC copied cds etc. Don't be put off by people criticising its output either. I've tried this with different headphones over the years (ears) and I've found varying results which leads me to believe that its not the discman but the headphones themselves!

ATRAC means you can burn up to around 30 cds on a single cd and listen on your discman. The discman sticks the whole song into its mwemory before playing it so it doesn't spin the cd continuously. This is great mainly because it saves your battery life by a lot. There is hardly any loss of quality when you burn to ATRAC. It is by far a better compression than MP3.
