Ive been using this for 4 months now and it really is a quality piece of kit. The build is good - mine gets about a bit and has had no problems with a couple of unplanned bumps!. Pictue quality is excellent, (although text can sometimes be a bit blurry, so probably not great for subtitles). and the screen size is spot on for cars and planes. The scart hook up to TV is awesome for travelling and being stuck in hotels, and the 6-7 hours battery time on two batteries is more than enough for long car journeys and long haul flights, especially so as its very easily converted to multiregion

The bag it comes in wont protect it much though. definately worth buying a decent bag for to protect it

Having had experience using a Panasonic LA95 prior to investing in the LX9 I can safely say that the LX9 is the one you should go for. The LA95 had what I would call an impressive picture for a portable and at about one and a half meters away the picture was fantastic. Up close however the picture was very pixellated and not what I would call DVD quality. Since you normally watch such devices with them on your lap or right in front of you this wasn't really adequate. The LX9 on the other hand has awesome picture quality and even with your nose to the screen I struggle to spot any pixellation, mainly due to a significant increase in resolution. Watching films is now so much more enjoyable and I fail to see how any portable DVD player can better this ... Read More:

Do not touch this with a barge pole...... very plasticky feel, difficult to set up and get working and battery life of about an hour at the most. Mine worked for a couple of months and then packed up totally on holiday refusing to recognise any discs. Shop around and avoid this model totally.

This item is excellent value for money,resolution from the 5" screen is clear and sharp with no persistence lag. The audio through the small inbuilt speakers is OK but the audio through the (supplied) stereo headphones is absolutely superb. The all region playback is a big bonus. All the accesories that you could possibly want are supplied with this unit: in car cigarette lighter adaptor, mains power supply, rechargeable battery pack, scart connectors, stereo headphones and of course fully featured remote control.
