Wanted white earphones to use with white Zen Stone (like to be colour co-ordinated). Find it handy to have neck strap, then player isn't as likely to pull buds out of ears. These had received good reviews (except the 'tinny' one), but I realise that you have to use the right size of ear bud to get the best from them. I tried the small to start with, but the sound wasn't very good. Changed to medium and brilliant, I could hear bits of background music I'd never noticed before, loads of bass and very clear. I'm really pleased with them and thinking of ordering a black pair (to go with my black Zen Stone, obviously!!).

Really not all that impressed with this model of Sony Earplugs. I've managed to go through about 5 pairs of different model Sony earphones as the build quality doesn't seem to be all that. The sound quality has always been very good though although this model has left a little to be desired. The midrange and highs are ok but the lower bass frequncies and general sound output is lacking. I would recommend searching around for a different model of Sony Earplugs of similar price than this model.

I've bought these as an upgrade for my Sennheiser CX300's and Sony MDR-EX71SL's, both of which are fine, but these Super Fi 5 Pros are undoubtedly the best earphones I've ever used. I was also considering the Shure SE310's but opted for the UE's on the strength of other user reviews here. In agreement with the majority of these reviews, the depth and clarity of sound is amazing - it really is like listening to your music for the first time!

Few niggles, though. The law of diminishing returns applies - while they do sound fantastic, they are very expensive (however, having bought them & paid off the credit card, I am glad I did). Subject says it all really. Nice, comfortable headphones. I use these all day long during my job so I can listen to Radio 4. Handy volume control on the cable too. Unfortunately the silly 1m long cable is very annoying and causes lots of frustration unless you are right next to your audio source...

I cant believe how these cheap headphones can sound so good... not audiophile at all but fantastic quality for the gym. The bass is punchy and treble and mid range crystal clear.

I have had these a little over a week now. They sound great. so much better than anything else I have tried, and I have tried a lot. The trebles are clear and bright, and the bass is just right. heavy enough to please most, but not so heavy that it takes over. The fit kit is brilliant especially the black foam tips which I found the most comfortable ear tips I have ever tried, and excelent at providing a seal for isolation. The modular cable system works for me, but I can see that some may find it less comfortable. The PTH module is an interesting idea, but a bit gimicky. I am glad I got it but more for the novelty factor than usefulness. I think if I were buying again I would opt for the slightly cheaper option without. Overall this is a superb set ... Read More:

Although these phones had good reception and produced good quality sound for the price, I did find it annoying that they were not adjustable and having a small head ended up attaching something to my head in order to lift the ear pieces so that they would fit over my ears and not half-way down! Anyone buying these who has a small head may find the same problem!

Goldring DR50 HEADPHONES

What a nice surprise - headphones that sound good right out of the box. These DR50's have a comfy headband and nice foam surrounds around the ear.

Heard thru a Marantz 6000 OSE and a NAD preamp - when I first fired them up they literally disappeared, I was not aware I was listening to headphones. Bass was good and articulate, mids smooth, detailed, focussed and a touch laid back, highs sweet as candy but lacked ultimate detail.

The biggest praise for these is they do not sound loud, for me the biggest accolade attributed to good sound (when my girlfriend says its too loud, she means its distorting) . For the price - excellent, I doubt you will find better for less money.
