My first proper iPod - and it's great!! If I could have afforded the bigger capacity then I would have got it - thats its only downfall. Just means you manage your music better and you always have something different on your iPod. Saying that I've crammed about 30 albums, countless photos and many iPod applications (just the freebie ones to check tham out!) Definatley a well deserved treat to yourself!

Well what can I say....its one of the best units I have ever used. I was never an apple fan so never bought one but when I saw this I had to have it, with the software upgrade it is great. You can find your position on google maps (providing your in wifi range!), you can check the stockmarket (again only in wifi range), you can write notes, play games, look at photos (but not take them), listen to music, watch youtube, browse the internet. I mean this really is a spectacularly versatile unit. 16 GB was enough for me as my music range is limited but for someone who has a wide selection of music this may not be enough especially if you have alot of other files on there. I personally think this is a good product made for the ds and ds lite. Although it sometimes freezes the game, action replay can be used straight out of the box without any difficulties. The process of installation is easy and quite quick.

It is fully updatable via usb meaning you don't have to buy newer versions when released.

I bought this MP3 player a week ago. I am really pleased with it. It is easy to use ( for me to say that it must be easy). The instructions are not very good but I found some good advice about its functions on the internet. I love the fact that you can bookmark and fast forward and rewind.

I was undecided when it came to the Archos 605 wifi or the Apple Ipod Touch. After reading many reviews, I decided to go for the Archos as it had bigger storage capacity, seemed easier to load music/videos etc on, and seemed like fantastic value for money. I got my first Archos 605 about 7 months ago, and almost immediately i found it to be a very problematic device. The battery performance was poor, and it kept on freezing! Some times it wouldnt even turn on! After having it for a couple of weeks and for most of that time, not being able to use it, i took it back to the retailer i got it from, and had it replaced! Incredibly poor customer support.
Archos will only deal with its customers problems if you have a WMA number which you can only get after queueing on their premium rate "support" lines. Support lines are off hand to rude. Goods returned not fixed.

This is a real draw back as Archos' appear inheritantly glitchy.

I bought this player because as a previous iPod owner I had no intention or purchasing another. In the main this is an excellent product, it is small, light, power efficient and easy to manage and transfer music to. It isn't perfect by any means - the display isn't as refined as the iPod Nano's and the navigation is a little clunkier. But for all that I'm extremely happy with it - the key emphasis to me is that it has superior sound quality to the iPods which I think is the fundamental point of any player; it sounds better and is cheaper than the Nano so it was an easy win.

Roberts WM201 Wi-Fi Internet Radio and Media Player

The Roberts WM201 arrived today. Within a few minutes I had it up and playing. Setting it up was quite straightforward, though trawling through 6000 radio stations to find my favoured BBC radio 3, 4 and Classic fm was an unexpected adventure! This is a very sophisticated product, and the manual makes interesting reading. Thinks: "Gosh can it really do that!".
I was concened that the sound quality would be a bit 'iffy' - but the quality is very good - and certainly good enough to enjoy classical music.
It has an infra-red remote, and this also works fine.
The only unknown factor is durability - but only time will tell!

I have had my archos for some time now and find that it is not really delivering what I expected.

The picture and sound quality is good and I have used it to watch films on flights with no problems.

The web TV plug in is of very little value as the channels in the UK are a waste of time. The web radio is quite good though.

I have looked at the vizumi web site for films to download but the selction is very limited. You can buy some films that come with a portable version for the archos but I generally rent films.

It is not compatable with the tiscali TV set top box, so recording from TV is not an option.

I can also confirm the support is useless and I don't think they have ever answered a question I have sent them.
