Simply plug in the TeckNet FM11 Portable Stereo MP3 FM Transmitter With Build-In Rechargeable Battery into your MP3 player or iPod earphone socket, use the up and down arrows to select your channel (there are 205 of them) and tune your car radio to the same frequency and you are listening to the music of your choice in great stereo quality. The signal strength is great and I have never yet needed to retune, all in all a cracking bit of kit that is remarkably easy to use.

Like many with a proudly misspent youth plus a few genetic factors and in my early 50s, I suffer from high frequency hearing loss, meaning that I have to wear digital hearing aids (I find the clunky NHS ones are by far the best, having tried 2 private in-ear ones. The clunkyness is actually good - shows people you've got a problem, so they speak more clearly). When I listen to the radio in bed, however, this is a real problem, because I can't wear the hearing aids when I expect to fall asleep, and yet, without their use, I have to have the radio turned up high and it sounds fuzzy because I get too much bass even with the radio's trebble turned on. I've owned my Evoke 1XT for nearly three years, and it has pride of place in my bedroom. While it doesn't offer the range of recroding/rewinding features that many DABs now offer, it compensates in its sound and its simplicity. If you are considering buying one, I'd highly recommend getting the XT-1 auxillary speaker - I have the Evoke on one side of my computer, the XT-1 on the other, and suddenly work becomes bearable. The lack of upgrades from Pure suggests that they got this one right first time.
