Sony got this unit just right with the looks - everything other clock radio in the store had the design flair of your average computer peripheral. I got this unit to replace a Sony clock radio which I'd had for about 20 years but I wanted a DAB unit. The radio is fine and fades in which is a nice feature but the radio clicks as it is switched on, defeating the nice effect. A few other annoyances - if you switch off the alarm too quickly after it goes off (<5 seconds) it switches back on the next minute. Really annoying for my wife who sleeps later than me and gets woken just after I jump in the shower. The radio doesn't turn off after an hour like most radio alarms - this one stays on all day/week/year until you manually switch it off. ... Read More:

I bought one of these to install in my 2005 Nissan X-trail to replace the stock stereo (CY690), principally because I was fed up of the poor reception of the FM transmitter I bought to play mp3's from my Sandisk E280 mp3 player. I figured, why not get bluetooth capability as well as the ability to plug in the mp3 player directly via a 3.5mm jack. But what I also wanted was to retain the functionality of the stock steering wheel audio control stalk and the voiceover audio from the built-in satnav.
Am not disappointed. The order turned up the next day from Dynamic Sound Ltd. It comes with facia, 3.5mm jack lead (which is not very good quality), a set of leads that convert from ISO to the Sony specific input socket. I had to buy an expensive ... Read More:
To any reading these reviews - there was a compatibility problem between the Robi and the Apple iPod Classic and 3G Nano models which appeared when Apple released version 1.1 of the iPod software for these models. Version 1.1.1 did not solve this. Version 1.1.2 released on 30th April 2008 does solve this, and the Robi now no longer turns off after two minutes. Thanks Apple! I can now listen for hours at at time. One minor new problem replaces that old one. If Robi is in DAB or FM mode and you use Robi to switch off your iPod, then you will generally need to use the iPod controls to switch back on again, and it may require a couple of On-Off cycles. No such problem if you switch off with Robi in Remote Control mode.
back in 1986 i bought one of the first PLL digital read out SW scanners .. the 7600D. i call it a scanner as thats what it does. ive just bought the latest & apparently the last in the line of SW radios to be made by Sony. its a shame. i think the radio still has a way to go .. and this is surprising after 20 years on. my impression of the GR model is much the same. the memories are now 100 compared to ten back in 86. the selectivity is better on the GR model by far. SSB resolution is much better & the BFO arrangement works much better .. but the step tuning still stinks. for me SW & AM listening needs good tuning .. but the Sony fails somewhat.
saving your favorite FQY is a shame when returning u have to select the mode .. AM SSB USB LSB ??? ... Read More:

I bought this to replace my old MP3 CD player, having been swayed by the prospect of having 8GB of music at my disposal!
Before I continue I should point out that so far I've only used the USB port. I haven't tested CDs, the radio or the AUX input.
The first thing to point out is that the photos of the machine don't do it justice. For something that costs so little it really looks very nice indeed. The buttons and knobs feel solid and reliable and the whole package looks very swish sitting in your dashboard. The exterior is a lovely glossy black, with red and blue lights on the controls and a sharp white on black display. The display is *very* bright, so I would suggest using the "dimmer" option to tone it down a little. Even on the dimmest ... Read More:
Snaps on in an instant, has edges and holes to allow all buttons to be pressed easily. Really well designed. The plastic appears thick & solid - perfect protection from scratches, drops and keys in your pocket etc.

People Please Please do not buy this product. Iam sorry i wos persuaded by the price and the 2 good reviews for this product. Unfortunately these reviews were wrong. This product looks really nice, it feels sleek, and sits low on your table. However for all its asthetics qualitiys the lag time of both the keyboard and mouse is depressing. I am completly confused why labtec have created such a frustrating product. Although easy to setup the slow lag time makes it virtually impossible to type anything of any speed. Particularly annoying is when typing a password which you do reasonably quickly, the keyoard has a tendency to miss out letters.
Please do not buy this product it might be cheap but certainly not worth it.

Good little radios- robust, smart looking (as long as you don't mind it looking like a shower gel bottle) and easy to use.
The loop is handy for putting a lanyard or clip on. It remembers the volume and channel settings when you switch it off.
The speech is clear, just remember to key up, count to three and then start talking or you'll only get half the sentence.
On the down side, the optional 12v dc charger has not materialised as of yet, which is a shame as I bought these to use on a narrowboat and being able to charge it off the dc socket would of been a godsend. Take the range with a pinch of salt but they are fine for afew hundred yards.
All in all they do what it says on the box .
