I have just received my IH8 docking station and im glad to report that it is a great product. It was very easy to set up, I barely had to look at the instruction manual at all!
As I have a new version of the iPod Nano, there is no specfic holder for it, the Nano holder supplied is for the older, narrower version, however I found one of the others to be suitable. The sound quality is fantastic! For both music and the clarity of voices of people talking on the radio.
The dual alarm system is very useful so you can choose whether to wake up to the radio or your iPod, and there is also a buzzer for when it is not plugged into the mains. So it is always guarenteed to wake you up on time!
This RD-59 radio is excellent for lightweight/portable DAB reception due to it's diminutive dimensions and economical power consumption.
However, considering this is meant to be a portable radio I have 3 (admittedly fairly minor) gripes :
1. It could have done with being supplied with a protective carry-case (especially as the finish of the case is quite shiny !).
2. A small pull-out stand at the back so it can be seated at an angle securely would have been handy (when sat on any uneven surface it has a tendency to fall over very easily).
3. Most importantly, there is no carry-strap nor even a facility for one to be fitted.
Even my cheapo 'normal' portable radios have those ... Read More:

Neat and simple to use (once the multiple key press sequences have been mastered), attractive and stylish. I use mine on the train (Weymouth line into Waterloo) and it works pretty well in what are admittedly fairly poor reception conditions. It's really frustrating that you listen to the radio on these earphones but have to switch to the ones supplied with the phone to play MP3s. The connector is rather fiddly to engage before you get the knack of it, and I've had some problems with intermittent contacts. But overall perfectly usable and reasonable value for £30

Bought this product last week. Tried it in both our cars (BMW and VW Polo) and it simply is next to useless... My partner tired it in her Polo driving from Cirencester to B'ham (the RDS didn't work but we didn't give up!). At best reception was fuzzy at worst nothing at all. This is despite the product having 3 'quick access' frequencies. Strangely - the nearer we got to B'ham the worst the reception - maybe it is affected by built up areas?
So at the weekend we tried it in my BMW. Again the RDS didn't work - again we remained postive (!). Within 20 minutes it was disconnected and in the back of the car!!! We did the right thing - retuning when the reception drops out but how many times are we expected to do this - 10? 15?? 20?? After a while ... Read More:
I've had a Freeplay Ranger for several years. My initial reactions to it were "it's quite heavy for a portable" and "it's a bit difficult to wind up". However, I've really come to appreciate its rugged construction and the freedom that comes from not having to use batteries.
Yes, the tuning and volume knobs are recessed, but I find that I _can_ adjust them one-handed. Winding the radio can be a bit of a challenge sometimes (hence the four star rating), but there is a knack to it that can be mastered. If you want a wind-up radio and you don't have reasonably strong wrists this one probably isn't for you ... except that it also has facilities for charging the batteries both from the mains and from the built-in solar cell.

Nice, though rather bulky, radio. Very easy to set up; had it running 5 minutes out of the box. BUT the volume output is pathetic. With a couple of computer speakers plugged in to the line out socket, it works much better - and in stereo. But this extra expense shouldn't have been necessary. Still good in all other respects, so 4 stars
