Clarity of recording is excellent, this syncs with Media Player easily and can be used as a MP3 player too. It records at a default high sampling rate of 128kbps, I don't think that many sound cards can play this level of fidelity, so it will be your computer which will be the weak link in sound quality. It also has a neat feature which enables recharging of the battery (you need to get a rechargable battery yourself) when plugged into the USB dongle provided.

Given this is effectively an MP3 player (headphones are included) as well as a voice recorder, this is a good value bit of kit. There are several functions in the menu, which I have not bothered fiddling with. As it comes out of the box, its exactly what I need.

I completely agree with "robin Hood's" review. Its a fantastic piece of kit for the money.

I also got mine from Absolute Music Solutions and it came with a UK power adapter as well as usb cables etc. Mine also even came with some small in-ear headphones. Free delivery was extremely fast. I ordered on bank holiday monday and it arrived on wednesday morning. The company sent me numerous emails letting me know when the H2 was dispatched and keeping me updated as to its E.T.A. I would definitely buy from them again. I also bought a Transcend 8Gb SDHC card which works perfectly. If you check Zoom's japanese website there is a list of compatable cards including Transcend's 16Gb card.

This is a not too bad cheap alternative for the occasional user but if it is intended for business use you will find yourself continually shelling out for batteries. I easily use a set of batteries per week so it's not entirely the green alternative. The manual says not to use rechargeable batteries - not exactly sure why unless Olympus holds shares in Duracell.

I'd been wanting a digital voice recorder to record my lectures, but my options were somewhat limited due to the fact that I use a Mac, and this one was unanimously recommended to me. It hasn't disappointed- the sound quality is generally very good (although the mic is ridiculously sensitive- it's much more effective on lo than hi), I love the fact that the USB plugs directly into the computer (no fiddling around with cords) and battery life seems fairly reasonable.

The only thing that's slightly annoying is the way that third party software is needed to convert the WMA files into MP3s to be played in iTunes, but such programs are easy and inexpensive to purchase, so it isn't a huge issue. A very effective, easy to use product- I'd highly ... Read More:

The attractive-looking Olympus LS-10 offers a solid construction and well-thought-out ergonomics which are ahead of other similarly-priced compact recorders.

Battery life is outstanding. Having an internal 2Gb memory in addition to taking SD cards is also a welcome feature. The LCD screen provides more information at-a-glance than some of its likely competitors (eg the Marantz PMD 620) yet remains clearly readable. The button layout, and the inclusion of an 'erase' button, is well designed.

The internal mics and pre-amp provide a pretty good sound, with little audible hiss, although anyone seeking to use the LS-10 outdoors a lot may often find themselves often selecting the high sensitivity setting.
