I was looking for a new laptop, I must admit I did not really want to shell out £900, but this laptop was well worth it.

The screen is excellent, blueray movies show it is outstanding capabilities. I have also used it for work, being a widescreen you can see multiple documents at once. Using it with MS Project really showed how width matters since you could easily read Gantt chart entries.

It was a smart piece of kit when I bought it. It's quite self reliant, sitting their quietly working. Image quality is average. Configuration is pretty good - i.e. you can set alternative ports so you can traverse your office firewall...

However, the motion detection has never worked for me and its clear there are no plans to issue a fix since it's been so long since the last firmware version.

I'd like to recommend it but frankly, in my experience, it doesn't do everything it claims.

I have bought four other webcams before this one, all were easy to use, of reasonable quality and all under £20. This just doesn't work on windows 2000, I had it going once after spending 2-3hrs setting it up, loading and reloading software and only when I signed up for a "FREE TRAIL" did i get it to work, then it crashed my laptop. So not deturred, I tried it on my pc, and, you guessed it, it crashed that too. Looks pretty but thats it.
*****BE WARNED THIS IS UTTER RUBISH*****

What can I say.. the installation CD is full of bugs.. the D-Link web site is useless.. it only works with Internet Explorer.. the interface is clunky.. and the captured videos don't play back properly. Not a great camera, but it manages to get more than one star because I've actually used worse.
