I was very disapointed with this CD. The title Sympony lead me to believe it would be a classical CD-well as classical as Sarah can be. We all know she isn't an opera singer but more stage and pop. I have to admit I really enjoyed her Classics CD as I do feel Sarah can sing although I didnt enjoy this CD at all. The music is much more mixed and there is no theme to it. If you are intrested in buying a Sarah CD buy Classics instead.

It's true that some songs stand out like Captain Nemo and Salty dog, etc...but this album was put together so well it flows...One song to the the next seems to have a bridge between them, I don't have to skip any song!
Actually, among Sarah album, this one is harmonizing the best. I go to sleep every night with it, it always work like a charm! Once you put it on, you feel like you are going to a fantasy world or a dream then I fell a sleep before I know it....(ususally after Salty Dog which she did a perfect job with the highest point! ( I am the type who is hard to fall asleep, by the way)
Thank you, Sarah!
Fans of Sarah Brightman have expressed mixed opinions on this `Best Of' release.
Being labeled as a `crossover' artist I think can be a burden, for there are times when he/she will perform opera and classical music but get criticized by the `classical buffs' for trying to step on the toes of their treasured elitist professional musicians of the classical world.
Then there is the criticism from fans of `popular music', who see their idol apparently deserting their pop roots and alienating themselves by joining the orchestral high society club.
So when pop meets classical is there always friction?
No, I don't side with either of these views, for I believe everyone is free to sing anything they like. Whether ... Read More:
One of Brightman's best albums and a perfect album for those fans who prefer her soprano abilities as opposed to the pop.
This album opens with a beautiful track in 'No One Like You' and includes one or two dramatic duets. This also includes the massive chart hit 'Time To Say Goodbye' sung with Andrea Bocelli, and one of my personal favourites - the famous 'O Mio Babbino Caro' that many will recognise that is recorded live.

I wouldn't describe myself as a huge Sarah Brightman fan but I do enjoy some of her recordings. Of course, her original Christine from 'Phantom of the Opera' is a wonderful recording although I always find her acting (on video - I've never seen her live in the theatre) off putting. Obviously the great thing about these CDs is that isn't a problem!!
I first discovered how much I like 'Unexpected Song' and 'Tell Me On A Sunday' from the musical 'Tell Me On A Sunday' after hearing this recording. Both are very beautiful. Unfortunatley Cliff Richard appears singing the part of Roaul in 'All I Ask of You' which is a big No No. 'Anything But Lonely' is another of my favourites from 'Aspects of Love'.

It is clear from reading other reviews on Amazon and elsewhere that people have mixed feelings about this collection. Some would have an album of entirely new recordings (and maybe more original songs and fewer covers) while others would have preferred an album comprising entirely re-issues. Perhaps it was decided that this compromise would suit everybody. Certainly, I'd been expecting a compilation of Cliff's duet hits ever since the release of his 6-CD boxed set (Singles collection), which contained every British solo single that Cliff had recorded up to that point, but noticeably avoided all the duets. In my review of that collection, I pointed out that there were enough of those duets to occupy a seventh CD. I was therefore a little disappointed that this duets album, when it was finally ... This is a lovely selection of songs from Sarah Brightman - beautifully packaged in one of the most attractive pieces of artwork used for the cover of the CD. This could be a little deceptive into misleading people into believing that this whole album is 'classical' , but there is a mixture here, but for the main, this does contain more songs where Sarah is able to utilise her beautiful soprano voice to its greatest potential. 'Anytime, Anywhere' is a great example of this - along with 'Il Mio Cuore Va' (Italian version of Celine Dion's 'My Heart Will Go On')
Some beautiful songs here, and several that will sound familiar to many - a couple of my personal favourites are: 'Bailero' (which I've heard sung often by other artists on Classic FM and adored, and so this is an added ... Read More:

Well I am absolutely staggered. I looked this album up on iTunes because I loved the song "You Take My Breath Away". Track no. 14 according to iTunes. For some nostalgic reason, I wanted to buy the hard product for my collection so I bought the Harem album on Amazon. Imagine my perplexity and horror when I realised that my beloved track was not on the CD. Track 14 is a mysterious obscure bonus track of some sort. Now I have to buy it on iTunes as well as the hard copy CD. I am not pleased - so beware, there are obviously two versions of this album. Make sure you get the one you want.

I came to this CD via my enjoyment of Katherine Jenkins and the reading of a very negative review of her new album that compared her to Sarah. Of course I knew Sarah from her ALW stuff but not her more mainstream performances. To begin, it is crass in the extreme to compare the two singers. Both beautiful women. One soprano, one mezzo. One experienced in all sorts of music, one not so but learning fast. But, surely, anybody can hear (and see!) that both are a delight. I was mesmerised by this CD. Not overly fond of 'modern' music I was fully captured by the variation on this disc. No opera at all but still superb (well for me anyway who loves opera). The arrangements are, for the most part, sumptuous and atmospheric and the singing is, well, superb! This is my first Sarah Brightman CD. It goes with ... Read More:
