I bought this toy for my 10 month old son based on the other reviews. Maybe I didn't read the description properly regarding size - but I was stunned when it arrived! It was so small it was delivered through the letter box - in its packaging!
The little heads are so loose they only stick out when upside down - so my son finds no pleasure and pushing them in or pulling them out .... its kept him quiet for approx 30 seconds before he moved on to something else. My set of pans are more entertaining for him!

I waste of money I think - sorry!

BRIO 33754 Wooden Railway System: Magnetic Bell Signal

We were very disapointed with this item - the bell ring is VERY quiet and the magnetic ringer only works with brio trucks that have large metal hubs on the wheels. If, like us, you have a hybrid set of Tesco/Thomas/Brio etc. you may find some problems with getting the bell to ring at all.

It's a good idea but just doesn't work well in practice.
we recommend a level crossing or collapsing bridge instead.

BRIO 33223 Wooden Railway System: Mighty Red Action Loco

Both of our sons love their Brio trains and track and so we thought we would buy a second battery train so the youngest could enjoy one. The other train (BRIO 33761 Wooden Railway System: Smart Track Engine) worked very well, was well designed and durable.
This train, however, has a flaw - the battery cover on the first train had a locating pin to stop the cover sliding forward and make it secure when it was screwed down into place. This one does not and as a result my wife cannot fit it at all and I have spent half an hour getting it to work. I take this type of equipment apart and put it back together again for a living and I can't do with this model what comes naturally with the earlier one!
Bad show Brio!

Pintoy Wooden 6 peg Hammer Bench

My son was give this for his first birthday - he has played with it every day since. He uses it in it's traditional hammer-epg way but also like to stack the pegs in a tower on the edge and also uses the whole thing for a seat! I was a bit sceptical when he opened the box but the traditional toys certainly seem to be the favourite in this house!

BRIO 33294 Network Track Pack

Have bought this for my sons 4th birthday - he loves his train set ... which is mostly ikea and tesco track. Bought this for the quality factor and thought the price wasn't bad for brio.
It is compatible with the lkea and tesco tracks which is good ... my only worry is the fact the tracks have white designs all over them .. which may be a problem for his lordship.

Although most Brio is not recommended for children younger than 3 years old, this set is designated as being OK from 18 months old up. We bought it for our son's second birthday, and he absolutely adores it. The pieces all seem very robust, and there is relatively limited scope for him to do much damage with the pieces if he throws a tantrum. For instance the house is made of a soft material. Learning how to run the train on and off the tracks, keep it on the track, run it through the house and use the right magnet on each carriage to connect to the others has proved to be an absorbing exercise in physical and mental dexterity.
