This is one of the best board games i have ever played on. A must have board game.

My 1st Scalextric Set

When the track and cars are working well my 3 year old boy and 6 year old girl love it. But I have to say that I spend a great deal of time putting the cars back together. One car more than the other seems to come apart a bit too easily and then I have to keep spending time putting it back together. And then you have to get it just right or the cars won't go round the track properly. It comes with crash barriers that don't go on very easily and then come off and seem to hinder the cars. Yes the track does fit together quite easily but little boys like taking things apart and you can't let them do that or it will wreck the track. I would say that this is a toy that needs to be supervised whilst in use, you cannot leave them alone with it! ... Read More:

I found the set pretty durable. How much time the cars spend on track is down to your skill and co-ordination.

I think you have to accept that eventually cars will break but they are reasonably durable and the set has had a fair bit of use. I am still on the original cars but one has the top held on with a bit of tape. You can by replacement cars so do not panic.

My 4 year old is pretty good with it and we have had a lot of fun.
