Five stars for the product, no stars at all for BT's customer support.
The product is great - I've owned a cheaper baby monitor and it wasn't worth having because of interference. This one has all the features you need and you don't have to listen to buzzing all evening!
But... the one I bought was faulty - the mute feature wouldn't turn off (intermittently) so the baby yelled and we heard nothing. BT offer an email support service which they simply ignore and a helpline number which (while free - they've changed it from 0870: good!) isn't answered within any reasonable time. So buy the product, check it works (took us 2 weeks to be sure ours didn't) and be comforted by the fact that Amazon has a great returns process ... Read More:
It's cheap but then after 2 months it's already broken!
First the charger was broken then followed with the monitor. Now it's not working altogether. Plus when it was working, it wasn't giving the clear signal. So all in all, this is not a good buy.
We have had an egg for a couple of years now. Our daughters bedroom is subject to extreme temp changes and we needed to be able to see what the temperature was in the dark. The egg seemed to be the perfect solution, and it has been. It has a lovely glow as a night light, and it has always been accurate enough to warn us when we need to open her windows (summer time!) or put extra blankets over her (sometimes her room becomes so cold that we have to put the heating on in the middle of the night!).
If you live in a modern home with proper central heating and insulation, then you probably don't really need a bedroom thermometer (or perhaps you'll be one of these people worrying about a thermometer being one or two degrees out!), but if you are ... Read More:

I bought this baby monitor after reading into all the others available. I really wanted a video monitor but as we have wireless internet & telephones I was concerned re the interference. I am so glad I went for this monitor. The pad monitor is great. It is ressuring to know that with a small bleep every few seconds you know baby is ok, easier than staring at a video monitor. When the parent unit is switched off the pad still works & a loud alarm sounds if no movement (breathing) is found. I have used this in both a moses basket & now in the cot. I have had no problem with interference from wireless internet or phones & the range is great too. Would recommend for value & peace of mind. I paid £60 on Amazon Blooming Marvellous are ... Strengths:
- Very lightweight
- Cute music
- Cute pictures from the light show
Weaknesses:
- Can easily be pulled down by baby using its fingers
- Pictures are on a rotating disc, so may become boring after a while.
- Once the baby sits up in the crib, this can be hazardous if it't attached to the side, because the light has a warning not to let eyes come in the way of the rays.
- Probably useless after the child is four months old, if not before.
A better buy, in my opinion, would be the mobiles from Tiny Love that have farm or zoo animals. These are well-designed, durable, and can be used well into the toddler years (without the mobile part). My 1.5 year old still enjoys ... Read More:
I am 16 weeks pregnant & was looking forward to getting my new doppler, however when it arrived I have to say I was less than impressed,I struggled to find a heartbeat if at all. I would not recommend this doppler to expectant mothers are they are not as good as described & scare the hell out of you if fail to find the heartbeat. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem with dopplers you use at home??
It sounds great on paper - soothes your baby to sleep and should they awaken during the night, it is sound-activated and should soothe them back to sleep. But as the other reviewers have said, this was far too loud and the slightest noise reactivated it - it woke the baby up and us in the next room! Aside from this the projected image is unclear (had no idea what it was meant to be) Looking at the box gives you the false impression that all sorts of wonderful images are projected round the room...
Do yourselves a favour and buy the Tomy Starlight Dreamshow, we've been using it 6 months now and it still brings a smile to our babies face when we switch it on for bedtime.
I don't understand how Tomy got it so wrong with this one.
Pros:
+Locks signal quickly
+Thermometer is useful and reasonbly accurate
+Digital so no interference (our Analog unit was abysmal)
+Good support from Tomy
+Useful to be able to communicate with Mum when she's feeding the sprog & I'm cooking dinner.
+Good sound.
Cons
-The style looks cute and chubby in the shop. But the ergonomics are rubbish. The buttons are way too easy to press. (Including the on button). The belt clip is useless.
-Replacement battery is 3 NiMH AAA cells in a custom pack&plug for an extortionate £13

WE HAVE AN OLD TOMY WALKABOUT DIGITAL THAT HAS JUST STARTED TO PLAY UP, WELL IT HAS BEEN IN CONSTANT USE FOR 5 YEARS, AND IT NEEDS A SQUEEZE TO CORRECT IT, WELL NOW WE HAVE OUR 3RD BABY WE DECIDED TO PURCHASE WHAT WE THOUGHT WOULD BE A MORE ADVANCED MODEL - NOT THE CASE. THE CONCEPT OF THE TALK BACK FACILITY WAS GREAT BUT THE CONSTANT INTERFERENCE ON IT WAS UNBEARABLE, WE CHANGED THE SETTINGS ON IT SO WE DIDNT HAVE IT ON SUCH A SENSITIVE SETTING BUT THEN THE TALKBACK FACILITY DIDNT PICK UP CLEARLY WHAT WAS BEING SAID. WE NEEDED IT ON SENSITIVE AS WE HAVE A 2 1/2 YEAR OLD WHO FALLS OUT OF BED AND OBVIOUSLY NEEDED TO HEAR THE BUMP! SO IN THE END WE'VE PLUGGED BACK IN THE OLD BOY AND JUST GIVE IT A SQUEEZE NOW AND AGAIN WHEN IT PLAYS UP, I'M VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH TOMY ... Read More:
