Mega Bloks Disney Cars Mack And McQueen

You can never tell how good a toy it is from the box. But I'm pretty pleased with this. It's a decent size and the inside of the trailer is hollow with a drop down door at the end so you can put Lightning McQueen and other little diecast cars inside. I'm not sure how much mix & matching can be done with other Mega Blocks set but this one works well on its own.

Aqua Beads Art Deluxe Set

The toy is unwrapped, the kids are excited then as they start using it, it becomes apparent to the adults that it really is cheap and nasty. Small, 2 dimensional shapes go together ok, but anything more adventurous is really out of the question, despite what the cover photos portray. However, small children find this utterly fascinating and my two girls continue to spent hours playing with this. They enjoy the whole process from placing the beads through to spraying with water and drying.

So I feel this is a toy that 4 to 6 year-olds will love, but the poor quality will really be apparent to anyone older than that.

LEGO Creator 6167 LEGO Deluxe Brick Box

I have to admit that I found this rather fun. I bought it for my little girl, who has outgrown her duplo bricks. You can make allsorts with it (literally, if you are that way inclined!) and it also comes with a guide to a load of suggested models.

I ignored the guide book and built my girl a car. You get a few wheels etc so it can actually be pushed around. I wish my parents had got me this sort of stuff when I was a kid. I got handmedowns though, with all the good pieces already lost.

Um, enough about me. My daughter loves it. The only slight criticism is that the supplied baseplate is a bit small. That really is a minor quibble though. There is an awful lot of lego in this box.

Both my children play this. It's fast enough to keep the 6 year old interested and easy enough for the 3 year old to move around yet challenging in finding the relevant numbers. They both picked it up quickly and they love it!
