Top Trumps - British Army

We started collecting some Top Trumps for our 7 year old son who although was good at reading was a reluctant reader. This particular edition is the one that is played the most as it is full of fascinating info on the frontline regiments. Our 7 year old avidly plays this with his 4 year old brother so we have the additional benefit of a 4 year old reading words beyond his age group and learning the order of very large numbers too. As a family we like to play these Trumps. I would say to any parent that they should consider buying toys like these to encourage reading and comparison of facts and figures.
To the Top Trumps people - could we have a continuation of the military(Army) theme please?

Well worth the money. Arrived this morning and my 3 year old boy has not put it down. Its well made as he even sits on it and rides around the kitchen floor.

Roary the Racing Car - Roary Scooter

I bought this scooter for my 3 year old son, when i built it up I thought it was a little smaller than others I had seen. My son loved it and he was riding up and down the garden as soon as he got it. Unfortunately after only one days light use the rear wheels bracket broke because of a poor design, they have plastic around the axle which will just break. So unless they redesign I would not recommend this item as a toy (O.K for an ornament though)

Galt Folding Trampoline

I have sent mine back, somebody bought it for my daughter as a gift but I couldn't actually assemble it, you need muscles like arnie to strecth the bungee cord tight enough. Also it doesn't fold away as easily as implied on the description, one leg was so tight when I went to pack it back in the box I hurt my arm tugging on it, though I guess maybe mine was just faulty. Dissapointing.

Absolutely superb present for the kids that amazes them and provides daily interest as they watch the tiny caterpillars transform into butterflies over a few weeks.

The kit contains a colourful pop-up enclosure with a feeding pipette and a coded voucher to redeem for a couple of quid for 4 or 5 tiny caterpillars. They can't put live caterpillars in the box of course. The voucher must either be sent by post or the code used on the Insect Lore website. I went for the web option used PayPal and effortlessly received the caterpillars within 2 days. You are sent a small clear plastic jar with half a cm of some kind of fatty substance at the bottom. Orchard Toys Dolls House Puzzle

This is a really fun jigsaw that can be sorted by content and colour and has plenty to talk and chat about aswell. Both my children have thoroughly enjoyed this jigsaw even though they wouldn't normally choose to play with a jigsaw. Each room has a different activity going on so there is lots to discuss.
