I've seen so many toys broken before Christmas is even finished, so I wanted to get my grandson something that would last. This toy is superb quality, very strong, brightly coloured and with the addition of some more vehicles, provided two little boys with hours of fun on the first day. I did hesitate before spending so much, but I'm so glad I did now.

WE HAVE AN OLD TOMY WALKABOUT DIGITAL THAT HAS JUST STARTED TO PLAY UP, WELL IT HAS BEEN IN CONSTANT USE FOR 5 YEARS, AND IT NEEDS A SQUEEZE TO CORRECT IT, WELL NOW WE HAVE OUR 3RD BABY WE DECIDED TO PURCHASE WHAT WE THOUGHT WOULD BE A MORE ADVANCED MODEL - NOT THE CASE. THE CONCEPT OF THE TALK BACK FACILITY WAS GREAT BUT THE CONSTANT INTERFERENCE ON IT WAS UNBEARABLE, WE CHANGED THE SETTINGS ON IT SO WE DIDNT HAVE IT ON SUCH A SENSITIVE SETTING BUT THEN THE TALKBACK FACILITY DIDNT PICK UP CLEARLY WHAT WAS BEING SAID. WE NEEDED IT ON SENSITIVE AS WE HAVE A 2 1/2 YEAR OLD WHO FALLS OUT OF BED AND OBVIOUSLY NEEDED TO HEAR THE BUMP! BRIO 33223 Wooden Railway System: Mighty Red Action Loco

Both of our sons love their Brio trains and track and so we thought we would buy a second battery train so the youngest could enjoy one. The other train (BRIO 33761 Wooden Railway System: Smart Track Engine) worked very well, was well designed and durable.
This train, however, has a flaw - the battery cover on the first train had a locating pin to stop the cover sliding forward and make it secure when it was screwed down into place. This one does not and as a result my wife cannot fit it at all and I have spent half an hour getting it to work. I take this type of equipment apart and put it back together again for a living and I can't do with this model what comes naturally with the earlier one!

I bought this for my 7 yr old daughter to help her get up in the morning.She really likes it as you can record you own wake up message- Ours is a reminder to get dressed as she always wakes before the alarm. You can set 2 different alarm times if necessary and there is a snooze function too. The night light function is a bit wierd as the light sequence is very fast- it would be nicer if the lights changed more slowly. The radio reception is not brilliant but we can pick up our local stations.

You can set 2 different alarm times if necessary and there is a snooze function too. The night light function is a bit wierd as the light sequence is very fast- it would be nicer if the lights changed more slowly. The radio reception is not brilliant but we can pick up our local stations.
