Would highly recommend this unusual toy, I currently have a 13 year old and a 2 year old spinning round with two in my living room, may have to prise the big one out with a crow bar, in fact she has just come into the room and begged me to buy one for her as the one she is in is for her little niece. They are simple, strong, versatile and loads of fun.

My daughter is 8 months old, I wasn't sure if this toy would be too big for her as the rec age is 1-5 years. However, she loves it and is able to open up all the gates and push the cockerel from side to side. The animals are just the right size for her chubby little hands to grasp hold of and despite her tugging at all the gates, they remain tightly fixed.

It is extremely well made, very sturdy and very entertaining with the sounds it makes. The best toy I've bought her since she's started to sit up. I can see that it will keep her entertained for years to come because as she gets older she will make up pretend games with it. Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Learning Puppy

Bought this when my daughter was 6 months old. She loved it and it is still her favourite toy 6 months later. It is a bit sensitive and can switch very quickly from one song/phrase to another upon the slightest touch, however she has worked out now to sit back and listen if she wants to hear a certain song before touching it again. Keeps her amused for ages. Keeps going back to it time and time again. A great buy and would throughly recommend it.

Orchard Toys Dinosaur Discovery Puzzle

This is great as it has a "key" of the main animals and plants around the edge with their names, sizes and when they were alive. Kids can learn a bit about the dinosaurs from that, but also use it to find the dinosaurs in the picture once they've put it together.
There's a lot going on in the picture, too, so you can spend time talking about which dinos are vegetarian and which meat-eating, etc.
The colours are bright and attractive (although you might have to explain that no-one knows what colours these animals were).
My only suggestion would be that there could be a booklet or something included to give more information on each species, or even a separate book linked to the puzzle (that Amazon could do a deal on if you bought both!).
