This is the best of the books currently available for the "First Leappad"system in the opinion of my toddler. The simple reason why? It featuresWinnie the Pooh! This would be a good book to get if you want to get yourchild into using the Leappad system, and once they've got the hang of it,you can introduce the others.
The book can be read as a story, witheach page containing activities or games, and then turned around forfurther activities. One typical page asks the child to point toparticular parts of Pooh's body, and another asks the child to point tovarious houses found in the Hundred Acre Wood in order to help owl findhis party hat.

Fisher-Price Chatter Telephone

My daughter was given several pull along toys for her birthday, but this one is definately the favourite. She loves watching the eyes move as she pulls it along. It's nice to have something not electronic. My only fault is the telephone cord is too short, so when she put's it to her ear, she has the main body of the phone dangling around her neck too. Other that that, it's still a classic.

This toy has helped out reception aged child come on leap and bounds with her reading and our two younger children enjoy playing with it too. A really great way to make learning fun and we've had no problems with it's magnetic ability, highly recommeded!

VTech V.Smile Learning Game: SpongeBob SquarePants "A Day in the Life of a Sponge"

I have three children ranging from 2-10 years old, and they all love V-Smile! This Spongebob game is based around the story of our yellow friend organising a party. My kids paticularly like the shopping game, where Spongebob and Patrick have to go to the supermarket and use the correct coins at the checkout. In another you get to be the fry cook and make Krabby patties (the buns have letters on which help to fill the orders). Like all V-smile games this has a good mix of numeracy, literacy, logic and fun!

Having suffered at the hands of my childless brother buying unsuitable (in my eyes altho my kids loved them) presents for years. I am now wreaking my revenge - my nephew loves this and it flashes and plays really loud music and it's really hard to turn off! YAY!

this is a great game for the 3-5 year old ! Fairly simple to understand but interesting to even those older than stated age group ( husband said he should have bought ME the game as I spent nearly as much time playing it as son did ). We have the Thomas the Tank game and this one so far and I like this one best.. so does he !

My 3 year old son loves this thomas game. He has about 4 games but always comes back to this, his first game! He is able to play this one on his own and finds all the controls easy to handle. There is voice control that tells the child what to do on each section. If you miss the instructions or the question it has asked you just press the i button and it will repeat it. Overall a great fun game which is easy to understand but still challenging enough for a 3 year old.
