My overall impression is that this is a lot to pay for a plastic stick. Having said that it is very well made stick and has an authentic feel - preseted in a beautiful box which is an important part of the wand owning experience. I hesitated for a long time but eventually decided that as my daughter really wanted an Hermione Granger wand I would treat her to one. I was very disappointed when I discovered that it was not the one that lights up, perhaps even more so when I realised that there was nothing to say it would light up - so it was my fault. It is well made and is suitably wighted for the 'swish and flick' required for perfoming magic, although a little heavy for a child. I am not sure if it qualifies best as a toy or a collectors ...
