I bought this for my two children aged 4 and 5 and the eldest loves it, though the youngest gets involved with it too. It sits in the living room and they frequently play with it - my eldest now knows all the continents and some countries and we have only had it a few days. Their current favourite function is the national anthems.

I rate this item highly, it's educational, it's interactive and can also simply be 'played with' as part of children's other imaginary games.

The batteries that came with the item have now run out and I will probably purchase the mains lead (which I think is available separately).

I agree that the pen could be improved a little as many European countries are very small and touching ... Read More:

great little phone charm, very cute, love the way it flashes and spins!! I bought one for me and my 10 yr old daughter, and hers broke the first day she had it. Fair enough she is a child, so I thought nothing of it. I started using mine and by the end of the day it was being held together with cellotape. Would only recommend if you are really really careful with stuff....or live wrapped up in cotton wool

my daughter was given this for christmas, and loves listening to her mp3 player through it. the lights are calming and very pretty
however I do agree with other reviewers that it is very noisy when it moves, however the foot tapping in time ot music is extremelly cute!

I bought these ages ago and got bored of them easily. However i've got them out again and i've spent abit more time with them and now i'm apreciating them alot more. I don't spend ages watching them i just get them out about 10 mins before i go to bed or watch them when i'm waiting for the time for me to set off to school but i think you'll need a few more to keep you entertained for hours. Once i get my paper round and i've got enough money i'll buy the one where its a village or if the wages are really good the one wehere they go on holiday and the village. So this is my advice. I was given this as a gift as I have always wanted one but could not convince myself to spend the kind of money it was priced at. That was a couple of years ago now and it has come out to play no more than twice. what a disappointment. As previous reviews state, the roboraptor does not run, but wobbles, and even if it does get a purchase it doesnt seem to move that far. The instructions were not really any help and I have only seemed to get it to work in demo mode most of the time. My daughter played with it for an hour and then got fedup. she complained that it didnt seem to follow the light from the handset as it states it should.
