My daughter got this when she was 4, and its one of those jigsaws that is in between the more simple toddler jigsaws and the "big girls" ones (her words, not mine). It kept her going for a while, as this was pretty complicated for her. But she kept going back to it, and I think the interesting picture, and wide mix of princesses made it enjoyable.

Overall, good buy at the price.

Ravensburger Puzzleball 240 Pieces Simpsons

This puzzle is made from sturdy hard plastic pieces that more or less click together. It keeps it shape well as it is built with only the final piece or two being rather fiddly to fit. The picture from which to work is rather small and not as helpful as it might be. However as all the pieces are numbered (from 1 to 240) you can check whether you have the right one before piecing it together. This said, we did manage to put a large number of pieces together in the wrong place without noticing as the shapes of the pieces are fairly uniform and the puzzle pattern (picture) repeats itself. The finished puzzle is smaller than we expcted and makes a ball of about six inches diameter. All in all a different, fun and ultimately very satisfying puzzle.

This is a brilliant idea. Sitting down making your puzzle, all of a sudden, dinner's ready, need to clear the table and put your jigsaw away from the kids reach. Zip it up, tip it up on its side and down the back of the couch with it - all in under a minute. A fantastic product and only sorry it wasn't available growing up when it would have been my Mother looking for her table back and not my wife!!! Only limitation is its size, you get addicted to jigsaws and want to go bigger, now you need a bigger puzzle board!! Well done to the person who invented this - I hope you make a fortune!

Had to return this item as I bought it after reading the other review saying it was suitable for a 3 year old. It's not; the box says 6-9 - perhaps the reviewer meant to write about Orchard Toys The Jolly Roger Puzzle which has fewer and larger pieces, and I have now ordered. Looks fun though!

Very Hungry Caterpillar Giant Floor Puzzle

This is such a nice picture, and the size of the pieces is just right. everything is good except the quality of the cardboard which is thin and bends and cracks very easily (we're talking child consumer here!).
Another problem which was apparent as soon as we opened the box is that the pieces are all slightly concave so don't lie flat or connect properly even on a hardfloor or table. we tried flattening them under heavy books but to no avail.
my little boy found it so frustrating that we got rid of it.
Improve the quality and this would be top notch.

This is a really fun jigsaw that can be sorted by content and colour and has plenty to talk and chat about aswell. Both my children have thoroughly enjoyed this jigsaw even though they wouldn't normally choose to play with a jigsaw. Each room has a different activity going on so there is lots to discuss.
