This is an excellent educational robot. You can make many autonomous or remote robotic devices. Spares and more parts and sensors are easily available and include third party support, or make your own. There are many programming environments for the nxt, all easily available. Much web support too. Great for experienced and new programmers. All in all superb value.

LEGO Star Wars 7676: Republic Attack Gunship

Lego kick off their 2008 releases from The Clone Wars movie with the excellent Republic Attack Gunship. These were also seen in Attack Of The Clones but this kit has been updated from the original #7163 Republic Gunship from 2002 with better construction, nicer detailing, more features and a more accurate colour scheme. This is a great version of the Gunship and it comes loaded with features.
Each cockpit canopy hinges open. The two front cannons rotate a full 360 degrees and across as well. There are doors to each side of the compartment below the cockpit which hinge up and contain a Clone Skimmer vehicle inside. In the compartment next to that, there are two panels which hinge up and there is a medical capsule inside which you hinge open ... Read More:

This is a great toy. My 9 year old son has just received the set with the police headquarters. As with most Lego sets, they are easy to make up and look great when finished. I am sure this will provide hours of fun.

LEGO Star Wars 7662: Trade Federation MTT

Lego continue to celebrate Star Wars' 30th Anniversary with their largest kit to date this year with the excellent Trade Federation M.T.T. (Mobile Troop Transport).
Larger and packed with more detailing than the previous 7155 kit release from 2000, this model is an excellent reproduction of its on-screen counterpart at a large 42cm in length, 20 cm high and 15 cm wide.
The MTT is packed with features. There are two large opening hatches on each side. The rear ones allow access to the vehicle bay and the forward ones allow access to the droids and weapons storage racks. The upper front has small opening panels on each side so you can see the Pilot Droid inside and the roof opens up and back to allow access.
