My 2 & 5 year olds have loved pretty much all of the output from LeapPad International, so I was surprised and hugely disappointed to find the Mother Goose Songbook just wasn't up to the high standard of the other books. American accents and American versions of many songs completely confused the kids.

I understand that localising software is expensive, but something as culturally engrained as nursery rhymes either has to be done properly or not done at all. Imagine Microsoft selling Excel in the UK without '£' signs.

My wife wrote to the company offering to help translate the book for free. The bland response she received suggests a company keen to globalise a fantastic concept but unwilling to ... Read More:

Bought it as a speaker for MP3 dreadful sound quality tinny and annoying and very very quiet.
Don't waste your money if you don't just want a toy with pretty lights.
Plus the ear movement is cute but drowns out the music!
