We spent quite a bit of time seeing which travel cots were available before buying this one. Our four-month old had outgrown his moses basket, so when we last went away in the VW campervan we had to get him something else. We bought this one to last, and he does look small & lost in it at the moment, but he slept really well. The size of it meant a rethink to our sleeping arrangements - we all had to sleep in the awning, but this wasn't a problem. Edward slept safely protected from the sun & wind while we packed up the awning at the end of the holiday. Clear instructions. With a bit of practice, easy to disassemble too.

Although most Brio is not recommended for children younger than 3 years old, this set is designated as being OK from 18 months old up. We bought it for our son's second birthday, and he absolutely adores it. The pieces all seem very robust, and there is relatively limited scope for him to do much damage with the pieces if he throws a tantrum. For instance the house is made of a soft material. Learning how to run the train on and off the tracks, keep it on the track, run it through the house and use the right magnet on each carriage to connect to the others has proved to be an absorbing exercise in physical and mental dexterity. The dinosaurs are not very well moulded or painted. When we lifted the lid there was an overpowering smell of organic volatile solvents and we decided that it would be unsafe to give them to our children. Fortunately they were going to be stocking fillers so when did not have to face any tantrums by not allowing the kids to have them. We suspect the CE mark means very little with these. The farm animal tub was only marginally better.

Vtech : Light-Up Rhyme Gym

I bought this for my daughter when she was a baby, and she loved it from her tiniest days. She looked at everything, loved the music and then kicked and batted it - giggling all the while - when she got a bit bigger.

Even when she learned to walk and had plenty of other distractions, she loved to turn on the gym to hear 'You are my Sunshine' - that's still her favourite song to this day.

I have bought this gym for other babies and all have loved it - I can't recommend it highly enough.
