Being a Star Wars fanatic and at that age where grown men become boys again, I find myself reviewing the Clone Wars ultimate lightsaber construction kit. Without babbling on about how wonderful Star Wars is and its universe that George Lucas created, I'll get straight to the point. There are 18 pieces to this kit, including 3 coloured crystals that give a lightsaber blade its colour. In this case it's down to clever electronics and the crystals you instal inside the hilt (the main handle) are just part of its charm in the world of 'pretend'. The idea is simply to build your own lightsaber to your liking or build one to replicate a favourite Jedi, or member of the Sith. You can build Mace Windu, Yoda and Count Dooku sabers by following the illustration ... Read More:
Ok, buy it as a Christmas present for some kid if you really want to. But why not buy it for yourself? It's utterly brilliant! It's brings out the competitive side in a really fun way and is a great reflexes game that doesn't injure anyone.
Am I saying this because I beat everyone else with it? Probably.
But still you will love this, it's incredibly durable and there are different ways of playing it for those that learn or use their senses differently.
Now if only it had a mute button so you could play after the kids have gone to bed!

Five stars for the product, no stars at all for BT's customer support.
The product is great - I've owned a cheaper baby monitor and it wasn't worth having because of interference. This one has all the features you need and you don't have to listen to buzzing all evening!
But... the one I bought was faulty - the mute feature wouldn't turn off (intermittently) so the baby yelled and we heard nothing. BT offer an email support service which they simply ignore and a helpline number which (while free - they've changed it from 0870: good!) isn't answered within any reasonable time. So buy the product, check it works (took us 2 weeks to be sure ours didn't) and be comforted by the fact that Amazon has a great returns process for faulty ... Read More:
I like this toy, but I think I like it more than my 10 month old daughter. She dosent mind it, but you don't see it very much of it from under neath a layer of bubbles. I also though it would bigger, its only about 15 cm long. (But I didn't read specs prior to buying)
Twister is a game of physical skill, invented by Neil W. Rabens and Charles F. Foley in 1969.
The game includes a 167cm by 135cm plastic sheet covered with 6 blue, 6 green, 6 red and 6 yellow circles, which is layed on the floor. The game also includes a spinner, mounted onto a board that's divided into quarters. Each quater says either left foot, right foot, left hand, or right hand.
To play: After the spinner's been spun, a combination is called out {E.G. ... Read More:
I find the naivety of the "I lost because I rolled a 4..." comment startling.
I loved this game as a child and played it often, I now have children of my own and we play it. In all the hundreds of games I have played over the years only a very small percentage was bad luck the deciding factor in the game and I cannot think of a single game when a game was won because of good-luck. There is an element of chance in the game but there is far and away more skill and strategy than chance.
Any player that is out because he rolled a 4 rather than a 5 had probably lost the game a long time ago and that was just the killing blow. Perhaps he had overstretched and was caught out or perhaps another player had risked his fortune by investing in an expensive ... Read More:
I must admit when I first saw this range in the shop I thought 'another Lego franchise money spinner'. In recent years Lego has become more or less a movie franchise vehicle and it's not easy to find plain ordinary Lego these days. However, my son was really keen on it and was bought a larger kit for his birthday - which he played with so much I had no objections to him using his own money to buy this smaller kit too.
The 'Jungle Duel' kit is great value for money, it is one of the cheapest sets you can get but has 3 figures (Indy, Spalko and Mutt - complete with expressions), a tent, a table which splits during fights, a collection of swords, and lots of other tiny additions (including strangely, a banana). It's the quality you'd expect from Lego, including a durable ... Read More:
