I bought this 'toy' at Argos in order to remove the sharp edges from my mosaic tiles and stained glass pieces. It worked for one day before it stopped turning. The noise still went on, the plastic cog still turned, but the drum seemed to be too heavy for the cog to move. Instructions were followed exactly and even when I tried to use it with very few stones inside, it failed to tumble. I took it back and intend to pay more for a proper rock tumbler, with metal, rather than plastic workings. ( Re. Noise. I put mine in the cellar and I could still hear it on the first floor)

This comes in a nice glossy box, which is probably what the £10 price is covering, because the contents are not worth more than a couple of pounds. A great idea, with educational potential, but the contents and final mobile is cheap looking. There is not enough string supplied, and the string frays and is slippery, so tying knots to hang the planets is a nightmare. The cross frame to hang the planets on falls apart with the slightest movement, and there is no where near enough glow in the dark paint, which turns out to be glue.
Overall, a waste of £10, which is a shame, because its a really good idea.
