Tomy Thomas & Friends Motor Road & Rail - Roller Coaster Mountain

We bought the Roller Coaster Mountain for my son's 4th birthday and he was very excited to get it as it combines 2 of his favourite things - Thomas and roller coasters. It was easy to put together (his 5 year old brother did it) and he and his brother had great fun seeing how many trucks and carriages Thomas could manage to pull up the mountain.

Like the other toys in the Tomy Thomas and Friends Motor Road and Rail range this toy is well built and thought out with a built in breaking track to slow the train down at the bottom. The mountain doesn't come with any trains or track though so you will have to buy these seperately. Once again poor workmanship seems to let down this range. My 3 year old os a Thomas fan but these Flair trains are so much more flimsy than there originals by Brio. The paint chips and marks simply too easily for the price.

I bought this for my 3 year old but when it arrived the box stated "from 18 months" and I fear it is too babyish to hold interest in the long term. She does love it so far and the music is quite good but the lid is loose and keeps snapping off - a design fault.

Songs are: She'll be coming round the mountain, Merrily we roll along, This is the way we (load our freight), If you're happy and you know it, For he's a jolly good fellow, I've been working on the railroad, Thomas theme and London bridge is falling down.
